Blackpool v Millwall Official Matchnight Thread 28.04.23

  • Well the pain is over & we can now look forward to a new dawn. As Pool supporters, we're used to this hurt.
  • Let's be clear - the board are fully culpable for this crap season & they must learn from this or risk losing the fans. Get football men, with money recruited to the board.
  • Sad to see Jordan on a stretcher.
  • Great to see Keshi fit & playing well again. He'll be a key player next season.
  • Well done Stephen Dobbie & the players for doing your very best. It didn't work for Josh & heaven knows where he goes next.
  • That's probably Jerry's last game at Bloomfield Road and if he leaves, he'll always be respected & loved at BFC.
Agree all - but hope you’re wrong about Jerry. If not hope we get good money for him!

None of this is on the players imo - we’ve shown in the last few games under Dobbie that we can play some good football with these players. With his win % over MM time we’d be safe.

Gutted for all players and most of the staff and ALL of the fans.

The reaction of the loan players and Nelson at the end was class by the way

Shake things up SS and We will come again !!

COYP
It’s clear where our problem has been. With the board and our absolute shite managerial appointments. Hopefully they learn from this

Well done Pool. We really put everything into that. Dobbie has really got them playing as if they want to win, not to not lose. Unfortunately we just lacked that bit of quality needed. And that wasn't helped by injuries an crap management appointments. Never mind we'll get over it and come back stronger providing those time we appoint the right man. UTMP. Tangerine forever.

Great Job Mick 👏

From what I saw.both goals started near half way. the nearest to them was CJ who fist goal was in possession yet decided to fall over got up and jogged back only to let the millwall guy cross the ball without a challenge.the second just let the guy waltz past him again without a challenge

Why 10 men .
We haven't made all 5 subs have we?
1 made in each substitute window seemingly . So we had no more substitute windows to bring a player on even tho we'd only used 3 .
I thought you'd have known that Phil! Not that I did either 😁

Our prime need in my opinion at the end of last season was a strong defensive midfield player. Never got one , which sums it up. Brave performance tonight but noticeable how they were were bigger and physically stronger.

Thanks for the chat fellas - & Ladies

That's me done with home games now until we're back playing at a decent level.

All away days for me from here on in. Looking forward to Oxford, Lincoln, Shrewsbury, Burton and possibly Cambridge.

This years quote when you realised it was going bent..........Boro away.

"Youz are the wust side I've seen at The Riverside this year Pal to be honest
What would possess you to admit you'll stop attending home games because we've been relegated? Why does it matter what division we're in if you're a Blackpool fan?

Each to their own but that's madness to me. Don't bother supporting us in the Championship if you can't support us in League One - I couldn't give a fuck about the weekly opposition, because I go to football matches to watch Blackpool, not who they play.

I've fallen out with friends tonight over my distain for this man. Always fucks up

Well done Dobs, you got the team playing decent football. Alas, not all of the players were good enough for the Championship. One of the Directors certainly isn't. Still, shit happens.

spot on

Covid's done for me and the wife. Seat sold back. Nervous as he'll and aching!
Nervous as he'll do what, exactly?

Oh, you meant HELL, as in fire 'n brimstone, and all that malarkey. Hell doesn't have an apostrophe! Why are so many contributors so convinced with thinking that one is needed - when it quite clearly is not - or isn't, if you prefer.
Bloody 'ell (correct use of apostrophe - again), I can see I'm (correct use again) in danger of becoming a bit confused on this one myself!

Not worth it.

Are you a Grammar BOT?

Well done CJ ….twice ffs he was at fault for that goal. Lost the ball cheaply and then not tracking back quickly enough
And yet there are some out there who persist in arguing with those who continue to question his almost mind-boggling selection for the first team. For the naysayers, tonight provided an alarming demonstration of all the evidence dissenters have been dredging up for months for why he shoud simply be shown the door.

It's was late and I was tired but isn't it mathematically possible for you to stay up if Huddersfield and Reading lose all their games and you win your last game?

Or gas it got something to do with all the teams down there playing each other in the next week or so?

Missed the game, but totally agree - he'd be top of my release list - always has been.

Hudders and reading play next week -

Incredible support last night , my TV was bouncing ! The Championship will miss the loud and unique atmosphere your fans produce home and away . The supporters and team couldn’t have given more last night .

It’s now down to your board to appoint the right manager and back room staff to get you back up . Good luck in League 1 and hopefully this time next year you’ll be celebrating a quick return .

Yep saw that, but if Reading win and Hudders lose all there games badly you stand a chance with goal difference no? Why am I not understanding this? Someone spell it out as its playing on my mind. 😵‍💫
Because if Reading win, we can't catch them!

Because reading would then be on 46 points and Huddersfield would drop into the relegation zone
