Blackpool v Oxford United Official Matchday Thread 12.12.20

I don’t get the Woodburn selection, unless Yates isn’t fully fit. I hope it works, but he’s a loanee and had he not come from Liverpool, he’d be nowhere near selection. I’ve not seen anything to be positive about, and I think Oxford will be relieved Yates is on the bench, not least because he brings out the best in Madine.

I’ll be delighted if I’m wrong.

We need something from somewhere to make up for Jerry's endless chasing. El Critch giving players a chance to prove themselves though 👍

I doubted Critch in the Pompey game when he dropped Madine, made me look an idiot. So I'm being positive this time, I learnt my lesson. 😂

Just paid on iFollow does it just come up, the video of the match at KO times our do we get the warm up etc?

Ok got it now!

He was played out of position on the right for Oxford last year, only did well when he was put in his actual position. That's why they didn't really want him back, he's not flexible enough with the squad caps.

Liverpool have always seen him as a left winger, and I reckon that's where Critch will be playing him

Could be interchanging with Kaikai, give Oxford something to think about.
Exactly, I think that was part of the recruitment plan as well. If he rotates regularly, then as opposition looking at the team sheet it could mean absolutely anything, and could change every 15 mins. I reckon we'll start with Woodburn on the left, Kaikai just off Madine and Ceej on the right but as you say there's a few ways to chop that up.

I don't think it's a lottery his team selections but Oxford certainly won't have seen that and they also have to prepare for 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1

I think Madine may be a bit isolated, Woodburn will probably be playing as a 10 but Critchley must have had a look at Oxford who don't concede many goals. I am sure he has a sound reason for this, Yates has a lot of energy so if he came on in the last 30 (rather than being subbed), he may make a difference.
Kurt must be pleased with Turton dropped, we will see.
Like the way he is giving chances to some of the squad, it promotes competition and the players must think that if you are doing it in training you may well get a chance to start.
I'd like to see Virtue given a chance in the last 30 as well, a box to box midfielder with an eye for goal could be another piece of the jigsaw and Critchley must have a good idea of how he can fit in.

I am pleased but Critch is probably thinking he needs a break. How many games has he missed? Not many. Chance for Gabriel to grab the shirt today.

Anyone else unable to get iFollow working? I can't even get to the subscription page? 3 different devices. 3 different browsers. Nothing. It really is a shite system.

Teams are out, I am in my chair with a brew, every one warned " don't use wifi"
I'm ready

Come on the pool!
