UTMP!
Whatever the plan was for the first half Tuesday, it didn’t bloody work. I hope MM has realised if our defence had been at Rourkes Drift it would have been a completely different outcome. Put our best 11 out and let them worry about us, we are fine going forward. But can’t defend for toffee. On Tuesday the defence and midfield looked more organised and solid than it had done all season. The midfield didn’t get overrun (although struggled a bit more when down to 10 naturally) and that bodes well going forward.
Hopefully Lyons and Bowler have proven themselves to MM and get the start - that being said it’s important to remember JB hasn’t played much football and probably lacks match fitness and Lyons hasn’t played at this level before so neither may have 90 mins in them - same goes for Poveda and Rogers so if any of them are on the bench I wouldn’t be too suprised.
I just hope we keep 11 on the pitch and actually see a game plan come to fruition. I honestly believe that on Tuesday the plan was to become more attacking in the second half after grinding down a smaller squad in the first 45-60 minutes. BUT Rotherham are a more physical team than Huddersfield so I can’t see the same game plan in use even if Madine and Goode had been available.
Not mugs no, but their away record isn’t up to much. Only 2 wins away and 9 goals scored, with the right team selected definitely winnable.Rotherham certainly are not mugs, they recently beat Rovers 4-0 & drew with Sheffield United in their last game.
Puzzling isn't it? I honestly don't know if Mick is right or not. My first attendance since mid-December (shirty virus), so I guess I'll see for myself. On Tuesday the defence and midfield looked more organised and solid than it had done all season. The only thing that is ' so down ' is you.Just looking at the league table. We are so down.
I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the skyThe only thing that is ' so down ' is you.
ffs i hope notI think we can tell based on macarthys pre match interview that he's gonna just play the tallest, hardest blokes again and totally neglect our pacy attacking "flair" players. For fucksake. It's gonna be lavery and CJ on the wings you just know it.
That horrible run is eleven league matches, comprising three draws and eight defeats. We haven't beaten Rotherham for 26 years! Time to end that dreadful run. Bowler starting wide right is a start.
Absolutely
If Bowler doesn’t start, then the negativity will start before kick off.I’ve just had a horrible thought. If we play the team when all (mainly) want to see and we win then Avftt will almost be empty. There’ll be no whining or negative comments.
If we play the team we all want and still lose then tonight will be full of wise sages saying MM tactics etc so it will be alive and kicking!
Think Connolly will be preferred to Thorniley. Mccarthy was bigging him up saying how important it is when players shrug off an injury situation, and the magic sponge is enough to get him up and playing again. Players like Connolly allow players such as Josh to thrive.Team picks itself today.
Maxwell (Should be Grimshaw)
Lyons-Nelson-Thorniley-Husband
Dougall-Trybull
Bower-Poveda-Rogers (or CJ)
Yates
Make your mind up , yesterday you were saying we were 'so down' before today's game.Anything other than a win and we are down. It’s as simple as that. No pressure.
Well we are but a win today and we can cling onto some false hope.Make your mind up , yesterday you were saying we were 'so down' before today's game.
That's it keep your chin up !Just looking at the league table. We are so down.

Yup that'll be me!!I’ve just had a horrible thought. If we play the team when all (mainly) want to see and we win then Avftt will almost be empty. There’ll be no whining or negative comments.
