Blackpool v Swansea Official Matchday Thread 12.03.22

Agree with this, I also feel that it's about time our opponents were left to worry about us and the way we play than us trying to change our style to nullify them. We've always done better with 442, why change it? All from an armchair fan point of view, what do I know?
We are making them worry about us because they have probably been preparing to face a 4 4 2 and now they are up against some sort of 4 3 3.
Hopefully it causes them some confusion, nullifies them and puts them on the back foot.

Rather busy with the cricket at the o but 2-1 Pool and bound to be Bowler to score first. I think he's on a mission.

The state of that marking, it's annoyed me and I support the opposition. Abysmal.

Credit Madine for peeling off 5 seconds before the kick was taken though, and well done Charlie Kirk for sticking it right on his head.

Just got in, great to see we are one up, how have we been playing so far?
Not seeing much of the ball, a little careless whe we do have it and we haven't threatened enough, likely as swasea love to play possession but they haven't posed too much of a threat so far

A game you could fall asleep too in all honesty

A little bit like the MK Dons home game last season - they're having a lot of the ball but achieving nothing.

Oh NO!

Quality ball from Stewart... Bowler puts it wide.

Having watched the replay I think the keeper would have had it anyway.. that's what I'm telling myself 😂

HT: Blackpool 1-0 Swansea Seasiders lead at the interval thanks to Gary Madine’s early header, his eighth of the season. Could easily be two or three though. Away side have offered virtually nothing other than lots of sideways passes

Chissy says Bowler ‘should have put clear blue daylight’ between us and Swansea. He is so eloquent

Bowler should have put this one to bed. Swans look good in possession but are appalling at the back. Good first half.

The best footballing team that's been to Bloomfield Rd this season.
Look like they've got a goal in em but if Josh had put that 1 on 1 away I couldn't see away back for Swansea 🤷

A few thoughts at HT...
* Formation looks to be 5-4-1 when defending and 3-4-3 when attacking
* Marv should get an asist for Madine's goal as he was blocking/holding two Swansea defenders with his arms
* Kirk looking tidy
* Stewart and Dougal doing very well again
