Every team has sung this so far. Out of all the teams in this league, would any of them have a point? Bournemouth for me 😁😎. And I do like Bristol.
 
No because all areas have undesirable areas, places that they would not wish you to see or visit if name calling is the game. Bristol for example is a fine city but it is not all nice.
 
Every town/city has their nice areas and their shite areas... except for Rochdale.. that place makes the slums of Rio de Janeiro look like Santorini.

I don't think any large conurbation is, obviously places like the Lakes are but these have massive problems for the locals who mainly have to move away.

Take away the expansive Central Drive area with offshoots and Blackpool is an amazing place. Fabulous entertainment for visitors, great walking, award winning Park and only a short distance from The Lakes, Trough of Bowland, Fylde Coast, Lytham.

Improve the shops and eateries and it would be unbeatable

I agree! Bournmouth is lovely and large parts of the renovated Bristol are really cool and fun. Cardiff is pretty cool place too.

Blackburn is just one big lump of terraced depression and then you throw in the likes of Barnsley, Hull and Huddersfield and I’m left scratching my head.

Always the litmus test is, would you plan a weekend or week away in those places? A bit like Preston, people have only ever ventured to these dumps for work reasons or if a family member has fallen on tough times and ended up in these places….
 
Well they all seem to enjoy their day out to the seaside. Plenty of smiles on their faces yesterday as they waved their inflatable penises in the air 👍
 
Its funny Blackburn fans singing it, back they go to their old mill town, with lots of wall to wall terraced depressing housing streets without even a front garden.

Everywhere has some but seems Blackburn has loads.

At least in Blackpool there's a hell of a lot of semi detached houses, lots of big semis too, more grand houses, big bay windows etc.

Plus all the stuff to do great history and architecture, coastline, parks, even small woodlands and bits of countryside like areas all by the sea.

Its nowehere near as bad an many make out. Just need to keep redeveloping and improving the problem areas.
 
Not many clubs in the North of England or Midlands have much of a case in the shit hole stakes.
I love the North but most of the urban areas with professional football clubs aren't particularly easy on the eye.
I suppose none shit hole based clubs would be Norwich, Cheltenham, Harrogate, Shrewsbury, Exeter, Cambridge there may be others but every major town in England probably has quite a large area dedicated to shit hole status.
 
None of them has a point.
Hopefully nor will their teams when they visit the best town in the world.
They slag us off, yet countless numbers come for the weekend.
Do they do that at Barnsley, Blackburn, Cov, preston?
 
Not from Blackpool so I can be neutral. It needs proper and sustained investment and improvement, because there is no argument that parts of the town are not good. It generates a huge amount of revenue and it should rightly be at the top of the list for funding. It’s been neglected for far too long.

Bournemouth was a frequent business trip for me, never liked it, found parts of it run down and unpleasant.
 
The most exciting thing in some of these northern towns they come from, is when they all gather round to watch the damn traffic lights change.

I mean FFS.

They stand the dead up in bus shelters to make it look busy.
 
In fairness, I don’t think that a Town has to be a complete shithole in order to qualify for singing this song. I mean (for example) I don’t actually think blokes from Yorkshire actually drink ten pints and then beat up their wives or that folk from Burnley actually interbreed with family members etc….









Scratch the Burnley bit (bad example), but you get the point 👍

Just come back from Bournemouth today like everywhere its got it's nice places but also it has shithole side. Drugs, dossers and beggars fill the centre on a night, better boozers in Blackpool so in my humble opinion no.
 
to be fair, when you arrive by train think of the route fans may take to the ground ? Through the town centre, past Coral Island then down Central Drive. Not the best angle of Blackpool.

yep the walking route from the station to the ground isn't the best.
 
I love it when I meet people and they say ‘where are you from? Oh, I thought you were going to say Manchester/Leeds. I used to go to Blackpool as a kid. What a shithole’.

Talbot gateway is decent, nowt wrong with the town centre, if they then go along seasiders way its not a bad route. Same way and down the front then to Bloomfield is a bit hit and miss.
 
To be fair, what they see is a shit hole. Let them sing it. Doesnt bother me because what we have behind the back streets of the front is no worse than anywhere else.

Yes we know, Central, Foxall, Behind South shore Yates, some of Lytham Road etc is rough and a complete shit hole and that's what they sing about. Talbot Road Dixon Road and behind it is rank too.

Don't lose sleep over it, were no worse than a lot of places.

Town cente is horrible. Talbot Road is ** awful. Rough as hell. Full of smack heads, homeless. Boarded up shops. The gateway is lovely with Bickerstaffe and Sainsburys then you hit Ma Kelly's and what surrounds it
 
Preston town centre is the same or worse. Stop putting Blackpool down.

Missus and I went out Preston a few weekends ago, parked the car and within 2 minutes (Fishergate) had to ring police as found person collapsed on the pavement with an Overdose !! Police arrived , we walked on , few minutes later witnessed a street fight. This was 7pm before we even got in a pub !!

Doesn’t particularly put me off but many people would not go out In Preston again after that experience.

Who cares what Preston is like, I care about what Blackpool is like and a lot of the town centre is crap.

Yes we have the fabulous Winter Gardens and Tower and Grand. There's plenty to be proud of but there's so much of the centre that needs so much work doing. Its actually tragic how it's allowed to have happened.

And yet you could walk through many times and not see anything particularly abnormal. Might not be the best looking street but walking towards the prom, turn left after walking down and you then heading towards winter Gardens.

So a tourist entering sees a nice Talbot gateway, an average street, town centre or front depending which way they go.

It's not like it's skid row.

The reality is most coming for matches drive here, down yeadon way tree lined road, seasiders way all nice, park up come to the football and sing it anyway despite seeing nothing shite at all.

Blackpool is held back by the influence of Amanda Thompson. Too influential in what is allowed and not. Too close to the politic elite. Allegedly.
 
Why don’t we sing back in the same tune “we know where your from, we know where your from, your having a laugh we know where your from”.
