Blatant cheating not picked up 😡

Two free kicks: first, left of pen area, their lad took a dive, no one near him, looking for a pen. Second, again their lad went over, corner of pen area right side, looking for free kick, Louzy took it 5m nearer centre of area, scored. Three examples of blatant cheating in a few minutes not picked up by ref nor liners. We need to be switched on and make a big fuss of this cheating to ref, other teams do. Watford knew what they were doing. 😡

There was an interesting one later where one of the watford players and jud were going for a fifty fifty ball. Jud stayed on his feet and repositioned himself to track the watford player who dived down theatrically before realising that Jud was nowhere near him, and then he rugby tackled Jud giving away a few kick. It was such a blatent dive it deserves a video clip of its own.

I’m ok with two attacking midfielders, but not from a choice of Carey or Wright. If Keshi was fit it would be a better balance. He defends for his life when we’re out of possession. We have to be ready for probably only having 35/40% possession on Saturday.

Do refs gets marked on stuff like this as history does repeat itself continually with seemingly no lessons learnt.

I thought they had a referee’s assessor at every match. Sure I’ve read it somewhere but I could be wrong

One thing I found odd, which is a symptom of modern day football, is how Watford can be 2 goals down and keep passing it sideways across the defence and midfield all the way through stoppage time. Are players more concerned nowadays with how their pass completion rate looks than lumping the ball forward quicker to try and get a scrambled late goal? I've never felt more comfortable hanging on to a lead than Saturday as it was taking them at least 5 minutes to make a chance so they were never going to play like that can score 2 once we hit 90 minutes.

Agree, bizarre, we were fed this possession based tedious strategy from Critchley ad nauseam. Though fit, I would keep Dougall out of the side. He, for me, is the last, remaining remnant from that side and back passing possession based era, thank goodness. Apples has created an exciting blend of young, forward thinking, adventurous football. Thompson's forays, Corb's wastefulness and lack of CB defensive cover still concerns me. Onwards and Upwards
