Nice of them.
Surely, people would be up in arms if it was the other way round.

Misinterpreting? Or are you trying just to find an excuse for it? I've seen no comments about the abuse toward Jews on a bus on Oxford Street celebrating the first night of Chanuka by what appears to be Muslim types either. If I've read it correctly, I believe it actually calls for the support of black owned business and to boycott larger companies, as opposed to white small business.
I feel a bit ill having to actually write "white" and "black" when it comes to supporting small business but there we go.
I think you've deliberately misinterpreted it there, by the way. But us whities have gotten good at translating pro-black as 'anti-white' it makes for good ill-thought political "debate".
Love a bit of outrage.
The abuse was disgusting.Misinterpreting? Or are you trying just to find an excuse for it? I've seen no comments about the abuse toward Jews on a bus on Oxford Street celebrating the first night of Chanuka by what appears to be Muslim types either.
I’d never thought of it like that Cat to be honest? No different to a buy British campaign.
Unless you look at it through a prejudiced lens of course.
... you mean ...an obsessive political prejudice lens... well you’d know all about that... I notice you haven’t denied an accusation on your thread yesterday...No different to a buy British campaign.
Unless you look at it through a prejudiced lens of course.
No different to a buy British campaign.

What? you do know most black people in this country are proud to be BritishNo different to a buy British campaign.

A question: If I did choose to 'buy British', doesn't that mean I'll be buying from British registered companies, many of which will be owned by business people of different cultures & not only of white origin? No different to a buy British campaign.
Unless you look at it through a prejudiced lens of course.
Just be happy in your own skin and let others be happy in theirs.Black Lives Matter.... considerably more than white lives apparently
I'll be right behind them when they change their name to Black Lives Matter Too
Spot on.If I've read it correctly, I believe it actually calls for the support of black owned business and to boycott larger companies, as opposed to white small business.

I am ‘66, but is it right that we should be made to feel guilty for what others did 300 years ago or what a minuscule minority do now?Just be happy in your own skin and let others be happy in theirs.
Would you say football matters? Or would you have to qualify it so there's no interpretation that you meant it's the only thing that matters?removed.
Yeah, which is the point, can you really blame them?Isn’t it racist to tell black peopl not to buy from white peopl?
Would you say football matters? Or would you have to qualify it so there's no interpretation that you meant it's the only thing that matters?
Leaning on semantics is always a bad sign for any position.
I think you're being paranoid. No semantics here. Equality is of no interest to BLM. Dress it up any way you like, but any organisation that refuses to accept all people are equal is racist.
That'd be fun.Maybe we nasty, privilege, entitled whites should encourage our like to only buy from white owned businesses and see what reaction we get
Unfortunately there are those that won't let us be happy in our own skin and keep trying to make us feel guilty about things we had no part in.Just be happy in your own skin and let others be happy in theirs.
Wasn't this a release by BLM GLOBAL? So applies to the UK arm of BLM as much as the USA therefore we are entitled to make comments. Its quite clear the race problems in the US are a disaster. Police murders, poverty, gun crime, economic segregation, systematic prejudice, judicial issues the list is endless.
Its also obvious that those issues are particular to the US. We do not have the same problems in our society in any comparable way.
As a result I dont think we can really relate to what any sides of the debate are or why an organisation like BLM says the things it does.
Its yet another negative impact of the Internet that some brits now think we are part of the debate and even take an active role in it.
What's prejudiced about going into shops you've used for many years? No different to a buy British campaign.
Unless you look at it through a prejudiced lens of course.
Wasn't this a release by BLM GLOBAL? So applies to the UK arm of BLM as much as the USA therefore we are entitled to make comments.
But they are trying to make it so.If BLM think that the situation here is comparable to the horrendous racial conditions in the US, then they are wrong too.
If there is a UK arm of BLM then they have No purpose in comparison to what is required in the states
believe the vast majority of white people in this country are racist? They’re not, it’s a very small minority. The past is the past, what happened 100/200/300 years ago isn’t relevant today, no more then Romans taking people, including British as slaves is relevant today.Yeah, which is the point, can you really blame them?
So why are they trying to make it relevant? And it just isn't just black people that are trying to make it relevant. Why? Do you re

But no one has said that nor the opposite.Looks racist to me maybe just in my eyes
If a group had posted lets shop exclusively in white owned businesses etc there would be war
I think it takes mental strength to acknowledge the wrongdoing of previous generations. Don't feel that these imperialists were doing right by their times - they weren't. There were people of exceptional humanity for those times who recognised the truth of this.I am ‘66, but is it right that we should be made to feel guilty for what others did 300 years ago or what a minuscule minority do now?
Racism, along with all forms of prejudice , abusive and discriminatory behaviour is wrong... full stop.
It wont allow me open the article im going on the way i took up the opening messageBut no one has said that nor the opposite.
So I don't see your point
I’ve no idea, can’t understand their problem at allSo why are they trying to make it relevant? And it just isn't just black people that are trying to make it relevant.
I’ve no idea, can’t understand their problem at all
AgreeBLM (UK) is a movement with some very shady aims, they'll use whatever tools they can get their hands on to further their cause.
Cat, this isn't a forum for truth and fact. It exists to facilitate the massaging of extreme political opinion, free from the confines of truth.I believe this is the mission statement of Black Lives Matter UK
BLACK LIVES MATTER We stand together in solidarity across the globe to change the world, we kneel together for peace and unities asserting Black people are treated as humanely and fairly as White people. It is a human right to receive racial equality, social and criminal justice in the societies we live, and to receive parity as full citizens of the country and as a nation.
This is a non-political, non-partisan, non-violence platform. Some content published on this website may have limited political content by the very nature of a state governed country, and system of democracy.
We operate in a humanitarian capacity and concern first and foremost. We believe racism transcends politics and endeavour to avoid distractions that attempt to get in our way of dismantling the harm that racism causes.
We are not operating in any political capacity. We are not a member of or connected with any political party or staging a political campaign.
Certainly less shady than the current law ignoring corrupt cabal of a Conservative government.
Not sure you’ve chosen the right poster to support with thatCat, this isn't a forum for truth and fact. It exists to facilitate the massaging of extreme political opinion, free from the confines of truth.
The thread or BLM?If anyone can’t see how divisive and racist this is, is in fact racist and divisive.
Go on then...I see your point. Naughty though. Not sure you’ve chosen the right poster to support with that
Go on then...I see your point. Naughty though.
I tell you what I don't understand, these punk rockers with their hair and that music, you can't hear the tune at all, I'd send them to the army and another thing, these women libbers burning their bras, are they saying I hate women? You wouldn't have got this in the 40s you know, you could leave your door open back then..Greene King is renaming one of its pubs in Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland as it has been deemed racist.
The pub is named after a 17th Century Female Greyhound which is reputed to have saved its Master's life. The dog also appears on the Heraldic Coat of Arms of the Town, but it will be renamed 'The Black Hound', as the current name 'The Black Bitch' has racist undertones with the change of the use of the English language.
I note it will still have Black in its title, but the name Bitch is to be removed, which I would have thought was more sexist than racist although we still refer to female dogs as bitches.
I become more confused each day.
