Blue card to be introduced

I haven't even read the article, a summary of folks' observations on here is enough.

If it's an attempt to improve the game in the eyes of the authorities, then it's doomed to fail before it starts. Because the way everything in the game is now, microscopic analysis of everything, media wanting full access to managers and players for comments.

Said it before, the average professional footballer isn't all that bright at times. They now know they shouldn't be kicking/moving the ball at free kicks or throw ins, but they've all been doing it their whole career so it's ingrained in them. So every week a decent number of the yellows handed out are for that sort of thing. A professional will do anything to gain an advantage, even when one doesn't exist - Stevenage purely as an example gave a masterclass in it last weekend.

Referees are so bound by having to implement daft rules that they didn't conceive in the first place that it's impossible to tell whether they're any good or not sometimes. What history will refer to as The Chissy Law, this late flagging off offside, is just one example.

But the game is being administered by tossers who probably weren't any better at football than I was - which believe me is really saying something - and so have no idea how much the daft ideas they have are ruining the best game in the world. Get the right rule makers in, and a panel of ex players as referees, who can tell the difference between a genuine mistimed attempt to get the ball and something cynical, and we might have a starting point for the return of some common sense instead of blue feckin cards, for Krysts's sake.
Common sense 😟 they haven’t any.

Jurgen Klopps quote below, bang on. He’s not the only one either. Why mess with the best game in the world.

"[It] doesn't sound like a fantastic idea in first moment. But I can't remember when the last fantastic idea came from these guys [IFAB] if they ever had one.

They should leave the beautiful game as it was and feck VAR off too. Maybe keep it for cup finals

Would they get a 10% reduction in time spent in the sin bin if the ref flashed a Blue Light card 🤔
