The reports are that the port works just fine so long as the facilities they have are properly staffed, the problems are solely down to the failure by France to provide enough staff.

As an aside, what's the point of improving the facilities when the French have demonstrated their willingness to f*** around with things at will.

I’m just telling you my experience, which include employing French, German, Italian, Poles and many other European nationals as well as from other countries aro the world and they all have their own characteristics.

You might be right, but I would think it quite likely that the port will be creaking to a standstill at busy times like this.
What might save it is people rerouting to airports and other tourist destinations and ways out of the country.
I know I will.
 
I don’t remember all these problems at Dover before we joined the EU. The only time I used it was probably around 45 years ago and we didn’t have any problems. Is this simply the pent up desire to go on holiday following two years of restrictions?

I'm sure that the port limits the number of sailings to their capacity to process the passengers, the only thing expanding the port would achieve is an increase in the number of sailings and the ability of the French to f*** with things even harder.

That’s part of it for sure. But there’s a big difference between the world in the 1970’s than now.
 
It’s obvious the French messed up either by deliberate action or just a plain balls up.
This is what happens when you become rule takers not rule makers .
Take back control was a load of shite so get used to more of the same.

Yet the CEO of the British Ports Authority says its partially down to Brexit causing additional checks for all British passport holders.

He doesn't post on AVFTT though, so knows nothing.
