Some of our past rivals having a real tuff time at the moment. Makes you wonder where we would now be if the Scums were still in charge.Screenshot_20221206-133443_FotMob.jpg

A great shame about Oldham.
My daughter was born in Oldham and I went to watch their home games whenever I could.
Of course my daughter is now 6 and follows 'The Manure' thanks to her husband, who also has no connection with Manchester.
Loved walking to Boundary Park with an old friend in those bygone days.

Of course Scunny are owned by Swann who was/is big mates with the Oystons, and was linked with investment in the club at one time. He's put Scunny up for sale and has cut investment. Problems with paying wages over the last couple of months.

Crikey Dave P that's impressive having a 6 year old daughter at your age....!

I think Oldham will start climbing the table..They've signed John Rooney and are sniffing after Joe Nuttall..I think he's got 12 goals this season

I can't say that I'm sad to see Oldham down there. I was there when they relegated us to Div 4 and they seemed quite chuffed about doing it. I also remember after winning our play-off semi-final against them and another churlish Oldham fan saying that even if we won at Wembley we'd be straight back down. What goes around come around!

Oldham will be relegated if they don't get rid of manager Unsworth asap. He had no experience as a frontline manager and is not what's needed in their predicament. That said the club is being run as if it's headed out of existence.

Doesn’t Swann also own that new 5 star hotel on the Prom , with the 007 themed bar ?

Scunny recently taken over by two local businessmen I believe. Hopefully their fortunes will change for the better.

Torquay was always one of my favourite away games I’d love them to be back in the football league, Wrexham also & with the Ryan Reynolds connection it would be interesting to see how far they could go

Don't like banter then?

Swann was also funding the new "black" hotel on the Prom which is probably why the project is at a standstill and fitting out hasn't started. Think he's up Schitt Creek!

Swann married into the Wilkinsons family and made a mint selling off the Blackpool site to the Council I understand. Last I saw his company still had a substantial portfolio of current and former Wilkinson properties that was being used in part to underwrite Scunny's losses. Clearly doesnt want his asset base to be eroded further.

The National League is a tough old division. Many of the clubs that get promoted are comfortable in L2. Not much difference between the two divisions.
