Heard a rumour he’s signing a new contract for us - 2 years plus 1 option but with a release clause
Source- he made it up.
We all know the way the club operates now and that means no leaks. Nobody is going to know who is doing what until we’re told be the club.

I mean why not look at all the bites you get.Source- he made it up.
If he's made it up, he wants a serious donkey floggingSource- he made it up.
Maybe - just my wishful thinking:To be fair, someone on here knew about the Grimshaw contract extension before anyone else did so it's not entirely out of the realm of possibilities, but I think it's highly unlikely especially given Josh's circumstances.
If he was set on leaving why would he sign a new contract? He has all the power in this situation so why would he sign on to give that power back to the club?
In his current situation all he has to do is play out of his skin this season and then he'll have his pick of clubs going into next Summer for free.
Maybe we offer him higher wages and he accepts because interest has dried up, but I just can't see it.
PMSLOne day someone is going to come on and admit " I started a rumour just cos I don't have anything better to do"
Maybe he saw it written on a whiteboard somewhere?I really hope Verdad is right here and he has actually heard a rumour that turns out to be true.
Not because we’ll have kept Bowler.. Because it’s class reading the jealousy of other fans on here when they see other supporters might have found something out before them.

I’ve not heard anything but that doesn’t mean it’s not true, I’ll see if I can find outIf this was from Gary I'd believe it
No - I just don’t like the fact on here people get shut down and claimed as liars over something that very may well be true. You have strange motivations as a Blackpool fan - to rate the apparent discomfort of other fans more highly than retaining a strong player for our team
I never understood why footballers don't sign improved contracts. They receive better renumeration, stability, protection from long-term injury etc.. If a better deal comes, the club will sell, or they will engineer a move themselves. Running your contract down is risky, loss of form or injury puts and future contract in jeopardy.

You have a strange motivation as a human being if that’s how you get your kicks.
Would like to think that, which will mean we aren’t showing our cards in public which is win/win.We all know the way the club operates now and that means no leaks. Nobody is going to know who is doing what until we’re told be the club.
He would sign to command a bigger fee when on a longer contract. Vi-sa-vi to get a bigger signing on fee, also it allows other clubs time to scout him so the club he goes to will probably be of higher calibre. To be fair, someone on here knew about the Grimshaw contract extension before anyone else did so it's not entirely out of the realm of possibilities, but I think it's highly unlikely especially given Josh's circumstances.

Couldn’t have put it better myself.Maybe - just my wishful thinking:
Josh's agent isn't impressed with any current offers, so he negotiates a higher salary on a 2+1 deal, just in case Josh sustains a serious injury or has a stinker of a season. This gives Josh some mid term security.
The new contract includes a release clause at a set value, and barring injury, if Josh has a blinder of a season and one of the clubs in the auto promotion place (if it's not us ) buys him at the release price to get them over the line.
This motivates Josh to do what he does best, especially under MA's coaching. Win win all round

Haha, swings n roundaboutsI'm afraid you've got that back to front, the higher the fee paid to the club, the less money there will be in the deal for the player.
Signing on fees tend to be a percentage of the transfer fee so not sure that’s quite accurate.I'm afraid you've got that back to front, the higher the fee paid to the club, the less money there will be in the deal for the player.
