Is it just me or the last 2 games he has looked totally uninterested. In a derby game you need to get stuck in and have something about you. At the end he gave a couple of polite claps and then cleared straight off to the changing rooms leaving the other players behind. Has a deal already been done?? and he doesn't want to get injured. Don't get me wrong I have absolutely loved watching him this season and it has been an honour. But there are still 7 games to go. I fear we have seen the last of him for the season.

Deffo looks like he doesn't want to get injured. But putting performances like that on sky wont do him any favours come the summer.

No it's definitely not just you because I've posted the same.
I've long held a conspiracy theory that he's not a team player.

He’s been poor but still given us our only threat.

On the other wing is someone who’s done fuck all, but people start threads on the players that do.

CJ hides on the pitch and hides from our fans assessing his performance. Quality stuff.

I think with some of these individually talented players they can come across as aloof. I don't necessarily think it's really like that. Probably a bit of introspection.

Anyone notice him head straight for the tunnel and Maxi trying to get him to come back.

Their left side of defence was shite. But they only had Bowler to mark between the two of them. Gabriel tore them apart in the home game. Would have done the same last night with the space given. Shame he was sat near me instead.

Josh had a stellar end-Jan/ Feb, but he’s back to normal now. Pool are not that good that they can play players like he, and CJ on the left, and not suffer. If a sizeable fee is offered for him, it should be accepted. He has been worked out by the opposition, and it’s difficult to see how he can break the stranglehold on himself caused by opponents doubling up on him.

Think there's something special about Bowler but he's not the finished article. Him and Grimmy have been our best players this year.

I feel as the seasons gone on more teams have wisened up to him and as we have NO OTHER attacking threats he's getting snuffed out a lot recently.

Bad night for him last night. But in the last 10 minutes he was the only player who looked a threat. Hardly downed tools.

People desperately trying to see something that's not there.

He chose to stay. And after deadline day he hit his best form of the season.

Whole team was off last night, however I didn't see a player who was uninterested.

If you look on to the left wing you’ll see one.

But people can’t wait to slag our best attacking player Bowler. Painful.

You’re right though, he was the only one to threaten.

They offered 3x his wage, I believe £12,000 pw and he rejected it, don't think he was guarnteed playtime. There's rumours Leicester are looking at him or were also.
Can’t comment on Leicester but your understanding of the Bournemouth situation is entirely different to mine.

If a deal hasn't been done for him, then he's likely to be with us next season on recent performances, unless he rips it up in the coming games. A cloud with a silver lining perhaps - because we have seen just what he can do. Totally agree that him and JG work well as a pair.

Got to admit I think he's a bit of a one trick pony. Mind you it's a hell of a trick. Problem is that teams have got wise to it now so he's going to have to learn something new . I don't think it works playing him and CJ because they both pretty much stay on the wing hence putting more pressure on the other two midfielders .

My God, if someone did offer five million for Bowler, grab it quick because like our other forwards hes on a downward spiral..

bowler as ive said numerous times on here needs a good attacking right back with him to take the additional player off him he always shines with gabriel in the team
Bang on.

He's lost without Gabriel.

I dont think there is any lack of intent on Bowler's part. Opposition are onto him due to his recent fame.

With Bowler and Hamilton sticking rigidly to their respective wings they make it far to easy for teams to nullify them, why do they not swap sides randomly and create some doubt with the opposition. Last night when the defence were coming out with the ball they both stood still on the touchline instead of making a run, even if they go offside it still enables the defender to move forward even further, same old predictable stuff ad as professionals they should start thinking for themselves rather than what it says on the tactic sheet.

Brilliant player who gets fans out of their seats. He's had a couple of poor games, partly because opposition teams have easily figured out that he's our main threat so they often put 2 or 3 men on him. It didn't go for him in the last couple of games, but as already posted he needs JG with him. Not his fault that we rely so much on the wide players, and that the other winger CJ is not playing well currently, leaving him the only real threat. Also not his fault that we fail to exploit the space left by the opposition when they put 2 or 3 men on him.

As another poster said after Forest, he is being double and sometimes treble marked, which should free space for others but we are not capitalising.

Always said he looks better with Gabriel.
Is it me or in the last couple of matches Bowler seems to be drifting more central.
Not you no, you’re right. He did this at QPR away too when we had one upfront, so it must be tactical which makes it worse because it doesn’t work.

There was a reason Bowler didn't go in January, if you remember, and that could still be a problem this summer. If we can get 4 million for I'm that would be great business, however he may end up staying on a new, improved contract and I wouldn't mind that either.
We're not getting 4m.

At Utopia FC he'd sign anew contract and would go in the August frenzy for good money.

We don't know exactly what happened, but I thought the word was there was something that significantly affected the fee they were willing to pay.

My best guess is he was only willing to sign up for a 2-year contract, like he has with us, which is why Bournemouth backed out.

I suppose it's also possible he wants to see out his contract here and then move on a free next summer.

I suspect we sold him in January, subject to conditions. We did this with Charlie Adam but then we got promoted and he therefore stayed. He was off to Boro, all terms agreed.

What was the reason?

Have this from a good source. Same source says he's off this summer, as is Maxwell as he's not No.1.

What a class act he has been and have thoroughly enjoyed watching him over the season.
Exciting to watch, a player who I've not been as keen to get the ball since the days of Hoolahan and Bullock, someone who's goals have been invaluable, but for me, a season away from being a class act which is why I hope he stays and shows us all what a class act he can be.

As a comparison, I see the Athletic are reporting today (via the BBC) that West Ham are after Keane Lewis-Potter - 11 goals & 3 assists in 44 games this season.
Hull value the 21-year-old at £18m and have rejected a £12m offer from Brentford.
Like Bowler (assuming we exercise our option), he's out of contract in 14 months' time.

Fuck me... bowlers stats aren't far off that are they? 8 goals and 4 assists or something like that?

That's how you can tell we are still "little blackpool" in the eyes of many... when people (our own fans included) are saying we won't get £4mil... when hull are rejecting £12mils for a similar calibre of player 🤣

Yep.
Full comparison from each club's site (note that Bowler's played about 30% fewer minutes)...

Bowler Lewis-Potter
Minutes played 2,833 3,959
Goals 7 11
Assists 3 3
Pass success rate 75.5% 77.7%

I love Josh but from what I saw Lewis Potter is a better all round player.
However, Josh has that X factor that in tight games he can be the difference that breaks down stubborn resistance. That’s worth a decent few quid as those type of players are few and far between
