Bowler

What a bazaar piece of business by the Florist management. Definitely a case of "more money than sense".
Let's hope he returns to us for the season & with other much needed January reinforcements, secures our Championship status.

Yep, seems very shoddy by the owners of Forest. Would have wished them luck in staying up but fuck 'em, hope they come down.

I hope Josh does what is best for him. He clearly has massive talent - we benefitted as did he -
His agent took the commission and created a good income for them both.
Either Florists were laundering alone or the agent was involved. Neither has helped a footballer with more talent than confidence.
Josh, give back the keys for Renault and we'll get the Tangerine Ford Sierra cleaned up!

I think he looked like he was really enjoying playing for Appleton. He gave him more responsibility and freedom than Critchley did.

It's us or the Greek central league is the bottom line.
My point is more that it's currently not the great environment that he left 4 months ago.

where else can he go? Forest would have to knock some-one out of their 25 man squad to allow him in. Don't see that happening, so it's either stay in Greece or come to us on loan. All subject to various parties agreement of course.
Even if Forest did knock someone out of their 25 man squad it couldn’t be for Josh!!!!
He can’t play for Forest this season at all!!

I think that's in no small part down to us not having a player like him though.

We just don't have a game changer. It shows. Players pass and knock it about but you can see they're scared. Bowler was never scared like that. He had a big role. An undervalued one by many, who saw him as wasteful or greedy but my god, what I'd have given for anyone to have a run and a shot on Saturday...

Stick Bowler in there and it's different.

I genuinely can't remember us winning last year without him playing a part in it. I'm sure we did at some point but I can't help think we need him, he needs football and the environment might look a lot different after a win or two.

I think he’d have to stay in Greece, wasn’t the reason he went there in the first place along with Hwang on loan was Olympiacos de facto paid their transfer fees this season to comply with FFP by paying the same amount Forest paid for them in the first place in ‘loan fees’

If they leave Olympiacos half way through the season a good chunk of it would need paying back it can’t just be written off can it.

I fear he’s there all year because of the financials.

If we could get him back for the rest of the season it would be a great move, add another good loan and 2 or 3 experienced players who will really improve the squad then we should be fine, if none of those things happen then we are goosed. If Forest stay in the Pre and don't want him then they can koan him to us next season too!!

Boooooo.

What if we paid them to pay forest?

Of course I'm pretty sure we won't have received full payment for Josh so we could knock a bit off the fee to bring him back on loan presumably.
In reality that's a cheap option.

If I’m right, I think there’s something in what I say, we’d have to find over a million quid for Forest to even contemplate it. That’s a million quid or half what we received for him for 20 odd games.

I can’t see one hope in that happening.

Unless there’s some accounting magic at Forest’s end I can’t see how this happens.

The fact he and Hwang needed to go to Olympiacos at all tells you all you need to know about Forests transfer window.

He's on 30k a week and they paid 1.5 million upfront with the rest on appearances and things like playing for England or playing on planer Zob

I just can't see it

However his girlfriend seemed to enjoy talking to some of but not all of the lads away at Burnley

Will see

I've no idea about any of the figures you quote but if you are right we are not actually spending £1m just foregoing it. £1m to possibly keep us in the Championship might not be a bad investment.

I’m basing this off Olympiacos being changed 2.2 mill loan fee for Bowler and 4 mill for Hwang exactly what Bower paid. So to make it all feasible Forest would still need that money in for the season.

Yeh it would make sense for us to do it.

Are Forest and Marinaks even arsed about Bower. I seriously doubt it.

Was on a weekend golf trip with a Forest fan a couple of months back and he thought the board had bolloxed any team spirit with random signings en masse.

There isn't a cat in hells chance of us affording either his loan fee or a part of his wages

Got more chance of seeing Megan Markel at a KKK rally

Correct.

Exactly the reason he went in the first place.

Nowhere but with the toxicity surrounding Appleton at the moment, it's not exactly a great move is it ?
Is it fook toxic.

Appleton has some detractors and some supporters as do most managers. Especially when they are at the bottom of their respective league.

Bowler has no other choice so why wouldn't he want to come home to a place he is loved and sit out the rest of the season?
