Without football tomorrow i can't stay in another day. So i want to go on a local Blackpoolish walk where would you suggest, I was thinking of around marton mere. But if anyone has any gems share the love.

done that walk quite a lot these last few months . The paths round there are quite a bit drier than round the De Vere which I would imagine are impassable in parts at the moment. Forecast is pretty poor for tomorrow is it not. Love the prom myself. Often park up Red Bank Rd and walk to Anchorsholme and back. Did it yesterday and it was such a clear day you could see the individual snow capped peaks in the Lakes. Not especially a gem but a bit of history to take in, is park up on Moor Park Ave, just past the school and go into and have a look around the Rememberance garden before continuing on the path all the way to Holyoake Ave [ bottom of Crossleys bridge] where the old B & Q was]. Alternatively if coming from the South just park up at bottom of Holyoake Ave, enter the woods and do it in reverse, which is what we do.

I enjoy walking the dog at the beach at Starr Gate. It's a lovely walk towards St Anne's and back, but as 20,s said the weather tomorrow isn't great. But if you're out early (before 10/11), it should be OK. You wouldn't want to be on the beach after 12 when the winds get up to 40mph though.

Alternatively, the pathways around Stanley Park Lake are a pleasant walk without having to drive far, depending where you live of course. It also shields you from the winds a lot

Nice 5 miler from knott end car park through preesall.
Back along via salt workings and marshes.
Finally why’re way and skirting golf course.
Easily googleble.
Enjoy.

North Shore Pond Trail is a good walk, park up at Hoylake Ave and off you go towards Bispham and back.

As mentioned the earlier the better, it looks like it will get pretty grim as the day goes on.

I live in Bispham so don’t need the car but do the same walk 3-4 times a week with my dogs. In fact I am just leaving now, may see you give us a wave.😂😂🎅🎅🎅

Other half went for a run in Stanley Park and said the paths round the lake are cordoned off due to the bird flu outbreak - fortunately tge birds are quite law abiding and are sticking to their side!

As for walkies, a hidden gem are the back paths off Faraday Way in Bispham that connect to the Pond Walk and the trail by the Crematorium and Robins Lane.

You can always venture to Skippool and walk round the Wyre past the Yacht Club - very muddy/wet at mo - on to Stannah Car Park then along the path by the old ICI and on to Burglars Path by Carla Gran which is a decent pathway now - the views up the Estuary are lovely especially on a clear day and if you squint and hold your nose then Fleetwood Tip almost disappears! But the lakes look good. Pity the pubs are shut as its nice to start at Thornton Lodge or The River Wyre and pop in for a post walk pint or meal if you are flush.

I will walk tomorrow in the Lincolnshire Wolds. Question master for the family Teams quiz today. The walk along the Wyre estuary is good
