Boxing tonight

Yep, this. It was awful.

Why has he suddenly decided he wants to be a boxers boxer? He isn't. He's a knockout artist so go back to your roots. Get heavy and knock people out.

Only Fury could out box Usyk. Derek nearly knocked Usyk out and Joshua should have tried.

His corner were a ** shambles in round 7/8/9 and should have told him straight what he needed to do. He was down 3-4 rounds by then. Awful from them and he should have words.
It was the 11th round and his corner we're telling him to stick behind his jab and counter. Unbelievable, they should have told him he's miles behind on points and needs to go for the KO.

Yeah noted that too. What a shame. Great fighter Usyk but was put under absolutely no pressure at all.

Joshua is too wooden to be world class. You look at Fury and he has the nous to work out what's needed. He seems a decent bloke and at least he wasn't hurt, but I think it could be panto time next if he still wants the big stage.

I'm certain (even before last night) Fury would beat AJ. I've got a feeling it'll never happen now unfortunately.
There's a rematch clause (50:50 whether AJ even fancies taking that now?),
Then Fury v Usyk presumably for all the belts, then other mandatory challengers...it all seems a long long way off now, I just can't see Fury v AJ ever happening

AJ is world class, there's no way you can be a Olympic champion and two time Heavyweight champion without being world class. Usyk is obviously Elite but a change of tactics could see a totally different result.

Audley Harrison is an Olympic champion. Joshua has been in a really poor era and beaten men well past their prime, that's not his fault and fair play he's made a ton of money. To be beaten by Ruiz and now a cruiser in his 3rd HW fight isn't the status of a world class fighter. Lennox Lewis was world class and would have beaten Joshua quite easily.

Ha ha, please don't compare Audley Harrison and AJ..

He wouldn’t.
100% he would. He fought in a far better era, was winning on points again Witherspoon, was outboxing Lewis for 7 rounds, until the stoppage. His jab was very, very good. Some highlights but the full fight is on YouTube. No way AJ would have matched Lewis like that, Bruno was a better boxer than AJ

I think I agree with you there. Bruno was wooden, as is Joshua, but I think Bruno had more power, a better jab and a more concussive single punch. Neither particularly great fighters and both had/have weaknesses. But I'd give Bruno the edge. Just

They get compared because they are muscular with great physiques. You are correct that Bruno was a harder puncher, his jab was miles better. They are both susceptible to a punch, Bruno didn't grab and hold. AJ against Ruiz was just bizarre.

Joshua was gun shy after being hurt in the 3rd round. Usyk, as expected, was mobile and his punches were quick and accurate, whereas Joshua was slow and robotic. Chisora gave Usyk more trouble than Joshua did. I don't see him getting back to the top unless he chances his arm and lets fly from the off.

AJ rocked Usyk in the 6th I think and in the past would have moved in to finish him off but backed off instead. I think AJ is a victim of bad tactics. I honestly believe he could have just overpowered him if he'd have been brave enough. Fury would wipe the floor with the pair of them anyway.

Neither could be labelled great but both good heavyweights. Do you give Usyk a chance against Fury?

Bruno was chite and handed the world title after signing up to Don the con King.
Can anyone name 3 people Bruno beat?
( You can't include allegedly his wife)
Joshua is the same.Beat a 90 year old Klitchko and who else of note.
Clever marketing and management in both cases to become world champion with so little boxing ability.

Did anyone else notice the bell go early to save AJ? I swear the counter was on 10 seconds and 2 or 3 seconds later the bell went as Usyk was going for the KO.
