Thanks to over zealous moderation and whinging by another poster I have been branded a racist on the Delta thread.

I have asked where I have been blatantly racist and the mods are ignoring me. As the posts have now been removed it just looks like I have been making comments that some feel are racist.

I totally refute these accusations. I am not a racist in any way shape or form.

I always thought racist meant a belief that one race was superior to another?
Probably you are being accused of prejudice and not racism?

What do you expect the owners to do the thread was OK and then took a turn get it deleted easy.

Don’t worry about it cruzzer it’s getting the norm now on here, I got branded being one a few weeks ago for saying our border control should not be picking immigrants up in rubber dinghy’s mid channel but should instead be taking them back to France.
The snowflakes have clearly taken over the asylum. 😮😬
Yet you have a certain poster on here who accuses the PM of murdering thousands of people because he didn’t lock the country down soon enough.
How can that be deemed as acceptable on a public message board accusing someone of multiple murders when it’s clearly not the case?

It’s likely it came from a variety of people, quite possibly from Blackburn, Bolton or other north west areas where this variant is prevalent. Asians can’t be excluded because they sat on the prom or beach with their families, they touched surfaces, and some no doubt went into takeaways and cafes. ive no doubt white people did as well.

Yes but he specifically singled out Asians as the sole cause of the variant in Blackpool.
Therefore it had racist overtones.

Before you have a breakdown, I didn't report you.
Neither did I call or refer to you as a racist. I simply pointed out that you were implying that Asians were the sole cause of increased cases in Blackpool. Even Blackpool's health director has said the bulk of the cases are in various communities and mainly amongst the young.
 
Sadly, some on here will liken the Blackpool health director to Gareth Southgate

Though the health director may be a better manager

Nearly 70% and over 80% of those two towns are white do they not holiday in Blackpool so why single out one set of the population you wouldn't have done with the southerners from Kent.

Hmmmm, I didn’t, I simply said that this variant was now in Blackpool and extra resources have been applied, others said the prom was full of Asians.

I think we should all calm down. There are posts on this Board that come across as racist to me: racist though intention, racist through thoughtlessness, racist through implication. The didactic style encouraged by messageboards is partly to blame for this as is the concomitant urge to respond quickly and with immediate thoughts that spring to mind. However, I would take a very deep breath before calling someone a racist, especially someone who I correspond with on here - which by implication of the numbers who read posts, means everyone.

As a society we have made great steps in steering away from mindless racism (p*cky bashing etc) and casual racism, (oi you black bastard). I think, therefore, that we're all capable of taking a step back when things start to head in that direction. One way we can do that is not to treat any subject as a badge of honour where we feel that have to hold our ground in an argument in face of the apparent upset it may cause.

I think its right to challenge the mods particularly as some people on here made the decision previously to do the moderation, but I'm sure the best option is to err on the side of caution with regards to alleged racism.

@cruzzer might well be making pertinent and relevant points but pointing the finger at anyone,whether they black,Asian, LGBT or even white Caucasian males can be a start of a slippery slope.

Its similar in some respect to branding anyone in Stone Island clobber a football hooligan, as that could be as far off the mark given there is no direct evidence.

Not directly racist, no. But, as you will appreciate, there are sensitivities these days....and I'm not trying to say there's a hint of racism in the statement either. See, sometimes a bit of clarification helps to smooth things along.

White people live in east Lancashire aswell as you fairly point out, and loads of them come to the Fylde coast for days out, although this variant originated in India it could be spread by either white or Asian residents from the hotspots.
I'm not calling anyone on here racist but as somebody who lives near Fairhaven Lake, a popular place with people who look like they have links to the Indian sub continent, a lot of people do single them out and pick on them for no obvious reason.
I usually put it down to jealousy as going out for the day with a large group of friends and family, having what looks like a top quality picnic and then a full scale game of cricket looks like a good day out to me. They are just missing a few beers!!

Some people know absolutely everything. They are usually the first to point out 'racism' but know absolutely nothing about what it really is. Its very easy on a forum to label, to use google, and to talk pseudo intellectual crap. Its a forum. That's all it is.
