Plus should we be getting in players who think their ceiling is league one anyways?
 
If this is the case, then I really hope the rumoured Bowler move is off as well.
I'd rather keep Bowler anyway, especially if selling to a local rival is the alternative.

Keeping Bowler (if that's possible) and getting RB cover in would still make this an OK transfer window (so far)

Glad the Brannagan saga has been put to bed, even if not in our favour.

The player is clearly happy in L1 at Oxford and they were obviously prepared to stump up the readies to keep him at the Club. We've wasted too much time on him already.
 
Wow, talk about someone with no ambition, happy to play lower league and the best player in the team, feel sorry for the guy

I think we've been played with this one Phil TBH....

By the sounds of it Oxford have blown the budget (wage wise) to keep him there and we've probably relied on the lad having a certain amount of ambition to step up a level.

Hopefully there's other irons in the fire, but it's disappointing to say the least....
 
I think the fact he didn't ask for a transfer last time we tried suggested he wasn't interested in playing at a higher level, and we should've left it there. We're still pretty naive as a club I think, that's twice we've been played by people at Oxford so they can get a better deal from their board.

I'm not concerned that we haven't got him, I'm more concerned that we've left if so late to determine if it's possible when in this case leaving it until the last minute makes no difference to the asking price. We should've done this in June, realised he isn't interested, and moved on weeks ago.
 
If he’s happy with League 1 football so be it. Mind you, if he’d come here he could have had it with us in 12 months time and enjoyed a season of Championship football in the meantime.
 
Fuck him…let him have his Lge 1 football. I actually would prefer to see them relegated to league 2 than i would seeing the scum relegated. Just to spite him and his scouse wank stain boss.
 
Embarrassing- another one to add to the list of failed deals this summer.

Simms, Lyons, Rosenior, Bishop and now Brannagan. Serious questions need to be asked regarding our inability to complete deals.
