A short term deal until January might not be the worst move in the world, extra cover in an area where we're weak.

If you are wetting yourself by the signing of a 33 year old defensive midfielder who has spent the last 4 seasons in league one,wth a grand total of 53 appearances in those same 4 seasons then you are the most easily pleased ‘ supporter’ I have ever known.🤡

And I didn’t say he wasn’t a leader. My feelings about it are a waste of a shirt, too old, defensive again, injury prone again, free agent again and without demeaning Bridcutt not what we need. However Sadler is the owner, Appleton is the manager and I am just one of the mugs paying to watch it.🤷

You don’t have to disrespect anyone to feel it’s not what we need, nor do we have to agree with everything the club or manager do.

You need someone who’s going to be playing pretty much week in week out to take charge on match days. I don’t think that’s him
 
Where are the goals coming from ! We need a decent winger and striker !! When others return from injury do we really need another centre midfielder for Christ sake !!

Fair enough. More than happy to give the guy a chance I’d just rather a ‘leader’ be on the pitch every game. Not sure he will be with his injury record but happy to be proven wrong

Well we won’t be getting them. Appleton has said categorically there will be no more signings after Bridcutt, aren’t we the lucky ones.

I think both he and the board have realised just because you are a free agent it’s no guarantee you come cheap quite the opposite I’d say.
Drinkwater shoots to mind wanted far too much money to pull a pair of boots on again.

They have been saying throughout the summer about free agents looking for a club. As you say they have probably been taken aback by the wage demands. This all stems from the ridiculous wages being paid in the PL, as in Drinkwater, he will have been paid more than enough to not actually need another club. If he gets one paying the money he demands all well and good, if not, so what. That’s what is ruining smaller clubs.

Well he has changed his tune then. He was definitely reported previously as saying he was confident of getting a free agent in, to be followed by another one. He's probably been told there is no more money available for wages!

He said one the fans will like and one that the players will like - Drinkwater, Bridcutt.
 
I think the fact we are scratching around trying to find some free agents that no one else wants at this stage of the seasons just shows what a right royal fuck up the recruitment process was in the summer.
 
The positives for me are

1. His ability
2. He turned down a new contract at Lincoln so he must be pretty sure of himself
3. MA knows him well. If he turned out to be a dud the board would be asking questions of MA so MA must be pretty sure he’s a good signing

The negatives

1. His injury record

On balance for me the pros outweigh the cons
