Bristol Riots

The left v right arguments on here would be funny if they weren't so predictably sad.

At the end of the day there are loads of protestors, many not from Bristol, including the usual benefit anarchists who spend their lives living for demonstrations like this. Why is it only happening in Bristol? Ask yourselves, who of you would go to such a demonstration and why? The majority of people just get on with their busy lives as this doesn't and never will affect them.

The Police have no choice but to attend and police it and if you think attacking Police officers, goading them, setting their vehicles on fire, jumping on their vehicles is acceptable then what does that say about you. Again, how many people on here would do or even think of doing any of these things.

I have been accused of being a leftie on here several times and also a righty, I like to think of myself as considered and open minded and on this occasion those of you who are defending the protestors and blaming the police are talking out of your arses (my considered opinion obviously), so I guess that makes me a righty today!

So hitting people sat on the floor with a riot shield is acceptable behaviour?

He even got asked if it was the police fault for antagonizing the protesters by wearing riot gear.
A British hating anti establishment peice of filth that wants everything on a plate and hates successful people, they are generally racist against good honest British citizens , oh and they normally dress like a dosser and don’t wash very often, hence they stink of Ming👍🏻
An excellent character piece Poultongirl. However, the character your piece exposes is yours.

‘bodies forwards”

I think that’s been a huge difference for us today on the attack

So hitting people sat on the floor with a riot shield is acceptable behaviour?
So throwing bricks, bottles, fireworks, setting fire to vehicles, assaulting police officers, pissing on the floor, damaging property is all acceptable behaviour?

Quite angry?

Wish they would make an appearance and leather some of these scrotes. I bet most of these swamp dossers aren’t even from Bristol
It's a bit more difficult when it's not fellow groups though isn't it?

I'm not sure the 'lads' have ever been able to sort anything except pointless scuffles with other 'lads'.

Or a hard looking photograph, followed by a post on the internet saying how they ‘Lorded it up all day on your manor, but nobody turned up’...

These lefty lot would spank Bristol all over the place... They don’t just dress up and prance around, they actually do stuff.

I see the 'all police good - all rioters bad' crew are here in force. Everything confirmed in the right wing press read the next day.
Poultongirl, most of these protesters you despise so much are more likely to go on a anti racist march far more than you!

And how do you know they smell?🥱 when you've never been within 100 miles of a protest?

Gladly, let me read your condemnation of last nights violence in Bristol and then you'll have my apology. So which thread?
Get lost. Find it yourself. I've told you where it is. You are a cad, a bleeding heart simpleton. Like an infant school child who keeps moaning to Miss that someone's done something to you. An attention-seeker who is unable to believe people based on their confirmation of anything.
It's like having a conversation with a recalcitrant school-child. Grow up if you want to debate properly with people.

Bloody ell, what a reply 😃 you looking in the mirror 😯

I just saw the coverage on Channel 4 news.
I think it’s hard to defend both sides here. I can see protestors attacking the police and were pre armed to be able to do so.

I can see the police being heavy handed and crossing the line with aggression.

So I guess you are all deciding which side you think are most in the wrong?

I've found that the 'ignore poster' button has cheered this site right up.

Good post. The Police cannot overstep the rule of law. They are our protectors and cannot take the law into their own hands. Those 'demonstrators' (hooligans, I say), should be punished by the Law if they have transgressed. Those demonstrators who just demonstrate, have a right to protection by the Police, not violence from them.

Don't be silly. Neither is acceptable but one of those perpetrators is charged with upholding the law. Different standards apply even though one Law applies.
You must have been watching a different programme to me then as it didn’t look too friendly a protest last night with all sorts being thrown at the police including bottles and metal!

You're making assumptions. Roll back please. Those who are violent and break the law should be punished, under the Law. The Police cannot act that way. Difficult, yes. Seemingly unfair, yes, but our Police need to remain professional.

And you are forgetting that they were breaking the law just being there or do COVID rules not apply to demonstrators!!

right, I knew you were bullshitting. I specifically mentioned LAST NIGHTS violence. I've mentioned it in more than one post. The post you were referring to was last sunday. So in the case of last nights violence you made no comment on it and simply chose to abuse posters as you are now doing with me. And what a truly pathetic statement, it's not me that goes "moaning to miss" it's you lefties.

I'm afraid that this situation will not benefit from pedantic points about whether or not they should have been there. It's gone beyond that and needs careful treatment accordingly.

I am sorry 20s but you are becoming aggressive and I will not discuss with you in this situation. I made myself clear about violent demonstrators in Bristol needing to be punished by the Law. That could reasonably be applied to any demonstration attached to the current Bristol situation. Either you are Autistic or you are being provocative.

The report from a local journalist I posted earlier made it clear that the protest was peaceful until the police waded in.
The protesters being battered with riot shields were engaging in a sit down protest and offered no violence.
State violence towards peaceful protests is unacceptable whether it is Myanmar, Hong Kong, the UK or Belarus.
