Buildings that Blackpool was stupid to get rid of

THE LITTLE VIC

The Little Vic’s facade was a blend of Spanish Colonial and Art Deco styles. It was designed by the architect J. C. Derham, who, 3 years earlier had created the Winter Gardens’ Olympia building, followed by the Spanish Hall suite of rooms.

Went in once or twice. Quite a deep pub IIRC. I spent a couple of years of my youth attending Schoies disco across the road.

Was cycling on the prom the other week and remembered a building where we played hide and seek, cowboys and indians and getting tb&f. Just past /opposite Norbreck Castle, download.jpeg

That is true. My gran used to live in the Queens Park tower blocks and the playground there was a deathtrap. In fact most were. Climbing frames and monkey bars built onto concrete. I've absolutely no idea how I managed to survived my childhood. I guess it was survival of the fittest. Local council's way of strengthening the gene pool for future generations.
Still got the scar and dent on my forehead after being sent flying into the railings from the witches hat or umbrella ride after a lads Dad spun it from the inside and couldn't manage to hold on, but never off Queenstown Park in the 60s.

Nothing to do with council, but you crack on with your bashing
Well in that case the Cricket Club is bankrupt 5 times over as that little soiree cost hundreds of thousands and only 3-4 thousand paid for tickets. The bus station is another clowncil bungle too.

Not a lot they could do.

At least what's built is fairly alright to look at.
