The only problem I have with the Brannagan fiasco, is how late we left it, why wait until the eve of the new season, if we really wanted him we could have done all this weeks ago, regardless of the outcome.
That said, I'm not sure what more the club could do.
We decided not to sign Bishop, our decision, not his.
We matched the offer for Simms, he chose Sunderland, not much we can do about that.
We met Brannagans release clause, it meant we could talk to him, he chose to stay at Oxford, end of story, not much we could do about that.

We can only hope things change, not sure it should be a stick to beat the club with.

I believe the release clause in his contract kicked in at 1 year left t'other day

Appleton seems to be getting a free pass on this I see. His job is as much to convince the player as Mansford .

We’d have got all these players regardless of Mansford or Appleton if SS made a bid high enough for the fee & wages, this has probably been mentioned in other posts but I can’t be bothered reading through everything, we simply can’t compete with bigger clubs especially the ones with parachute payments, I’m pretty sure with the business SS is in he will be considering getting a belokon type investor in at some point who has more money to invest, it’s not SS fault that he simply hasn’t got the funds to do anymore than keep us in this league
