The injuries to our 2 midfielders mean he has had to play Connolly and Dougall in a central defensive role and this isn't MA's tactics and it was dogs hit last season. In an ideal world neither Connolly or Dougall would be playing there as neither are good enough, Connolly is a good utility player and Dougall is league 1, We need to sign a proper midfielder who can do that role and we need another midfielder in the Fiorini or Patino mould, it has been terrible luck losing them in the same game.

Up front, apart from Bowler we have 2 strikers who give it their all and run themselves ragged, but they can't hit a cow's arse. There isn't a goal in either of them. I would get rid of Lavery and get a new striker in, it's tough being hard on our players but we have to open our eyes, lose Bowler and we're fucked without 3 or 4 new players in at least. The 2 lads being out has made a massive difference but it shows how weak we are in certain areas.
 
We need to get stuck in - we're allowing them to play - commit some fouls - break up their rhythm.
DonThom has the right idea - must be wondering what he's come to.
 
We have yet to play well In two halves of a game this season… let’s hope the better half is yet to come !!
 
Need to be more clinical. Having only one proper central midfielder on the pitch also isn't helping. Need some more quality in the middle. Hoping they can bring someone in to the club that isn't league one level.
 
Yates needs to be on this keeper the minute the ball is with their keeper.Get right in his face everytime because he isnt comfortable playing it out from the back.

When we are in the corners and looking for the cut back,the cut back has to come earlier.Corbeanu guilty of delaying the pass on a few occasions.

When Gabriel is overlapping Lavery,Lavery has to play the ball early for the overlap.Make the pass before Gabriel has moved passed you and allow him to run onto it.

When we are breaking in the middle of the park with Josh Bowler.Lavery is sitting back for the cut back.Get yourself in the six yard box where most dangerous leave the cut back for a Kenny or a Callum Con.

Ekpiteta has developed this habit in recent games of finding himself out of position and pushing up and its leaving big gaps behind him. Seen him do this quite a few times this season.

Lavery shouldve buried that volley and we shouldve scored from Corbeanu's cut back.
 
It will be interesting to see how Appleton deals with this, do we go for it and potentially get hammered or try and tighten things up and potentially get hammered 😉

We could hook Lavery and put Madine between Bowler and Yates, Carey for Dougall?
 
Lavery was on the left wing last two games and Bowler on the right wing.

Why change it?

Tbf to Lavery was back in defense and won the ball but the pass didn’t reach JG before he fell on his arse 🙄

We’re already getting hammered, so anything is worth a try. I have been a Lavery supporter, hoping he will come good after his injury but he’s getting worse not better.
