Burnley

What do you think will happen with them? Huge player exodus? What does this mean given the way they have run their club?

Take it most haven't got them to bounce back up.....
glad they've gone purely because of the new owners. these leveraged buyouts should be against the law, literally.

i have some sympathy for burnley fans who did not want these parasitical owners.

the directors who sold their shares have claret on their hands too.

Pickford has had a great season for Everton but overall I think Pope is better. Pretty sure some-one will be in for him.

Remember speaking to Matt Williams once and he said his job at Burnley was an absolute luxury for the club .. hope he's saved a few pennies for a rainy day!

Lancashire police had better get their house in order for next season or it’s going to get a bit interesting!
a blackburn supporting pal won't go to turf moor because of the draconian restrictions now imposed by lancs constabulary.

think it involves everyone having to go on designated buses from blackburn with match tickets only handed out on the buses.

i know it's a lively derby with no love lost but that seems well OTT. mind you, nothing surprises me about dibble, especially our lot.

Probably not the apocalypse some are assuming, but they do have some very real problems coming up.

Nine veteran players out of contracts, release clauses for top players, the fact they have to repay part of this leveraged buyout loan.

However: their wage bill will be firmly under control and (as Alan Nixon and others are pointing out) there’s precious little money around in the Championship at the moment.

Sure, there’s some potential for a Bolton-style implosion, but they might also be somewhat more competitive than we’re assuming. If they get the right manager…

Bolton went through the league even though the owner who piled them high with debt ended up not wanting hardly any of his cash back.

I doubt this American is going to be so generous given his whole involvement is aimed at making money out of the club.

Some players are out of contract now. Plus I can think of a few that that will be targeted, Pope for one. Think I saw G. Southgate say only prem players will be picked. Prem clubs wil be after Mc Neil. The list will be a long one. If only the guy that bought the club had given Dyche a few bob. I heard that if they got relegated the guy that bought the club has to stump up a big wedge?

Yeah seen the tweet above about the loan they took out and if relegated they have to pay a substantial proportion immediately.

Oh dear, be interesting to see how this plays out.

Glad they’ve been relegated. Contributed nothing to the Prem pocketed the massive money every season then pleaded poverty. At least Leeds have the fan base and give it a bit of a go.

Was speaking with a dingle today and he said the 20 million for Chris Wood is only payable in Feb 23......
Selling your main striker and not being paid until 12 months later... Remarkable Jeff 😩😩😩

I remember going to Burnly away as a teenager - was well too young was with an older mate ... Night game - kicked off everywhere and to be honest I was scared shitles... we ere in the longside and if I remembered kicked off in the seats ... gap between home and away fans on the longside was like summat from no-mans land in WW1 ... we found a nice space near the fence and a decent copper advised us to move on as stuff usually came flying over in that spot... I think I was about 14/15 ???? so around 1989 - 1992 Neil matthewsplayed for us ? mark Bradshaw played / scored .. I am sure we lost???

Think it was 98 a night game at turf moor, I got a free ticket off the Marsden building society for the home end and went in my tangerine jacket, oh what fun I had!.
