Bye Bye MM.

Did he ever have the players to do that, though?

It seems to me that the real problem this season has been that the club's got 3 holding midfielders who've played the equivalent of 4 games between them, which, with Connolly needed at RB, left him with Dougall as the only option for most of his time here.

Recruitment really has been a mess this season.
Thats the point even though everyone knew we didn't have the players for the system himself included.
Quitchley tried it and adapted and look what happened but appletit was too stubborn for his own good and he sank himself for that reason.

Good that he's gone, but I don't trust the board to appoint a decent replacement.

This season has been a disaster and its been all our own making.

Good riddance, honestly. You could see the change in the players’ confidence almost immediately. What the hell did he say to them?

Mutual consent is a good result. We don't know what compensation might have been due if sacked. Going to be an interesting game on Monday. Good luck Dobbie and some investment please on (fit) players whatever league we are in.

Permanent replacement I meant.
I guessed that, but would not rule Dobbie out of the permanent role, at least he now has an opportunity to show what he is about.
We have had 3 very experienced managers in our last 4 appointments and none worked out, so we need someone up and coming and Dobbie may just be that man

I liked McCarthy as a person, but was worried when I heard 5 at the back mentioned I hate 5 at the back. We needed Big Sam who does have a record of keeping teams up. But that would have cost too much. We got Mick. I doubt he will be involved with football management again TBH.
The players heads must be all over the place & I fear it's too late to change things this season. All Dobbie can possibly try to do is, revert to something system wise that the players are fairly familiar with & hope they quickly forget the last 10 games or so. He would deserve a Knighthood if by some way we managed the necessary 4 wins out of 6. I'll still be going to the next 2 home games regardless, not around for the last one though.

Please explain to me why when we have NO fit strikers it would be a mistake to take a chance on Brad Holmes even if he's only on the bench.
Totally agree, we seem to have played an number of games this season when the opposition have brought in 18 yr old Academy players and they have turned out to be match winners. Also, I would have brought back either Tharme or Casey back from their loan clubs to cover for the situation yesterday when we had only 1 recognised CH. I know they are not Championship standard but sometimes you have throw them in at the deep end to see if they can swim.

If only we had a mid-fielder that could do this.
"Brig have two corners in quick succession and keep the ball alive and the ball falls to Luke Mariette who’s 20 yards out and he volleys it into the top corner. Incredible!! "
Nah, we're just a Cat 3 Academy.

And here's Luke goal. Doesn't matter what level you are playing at shots like that hit the back of the net.

How's he doing overall?

When was the last time any of our midfield hit a shot like that or one that Apter scored a while ago?
For some reason Luke was one of last years u18s who had very few loans but now he's settled in at Bamber Bridge it seems to be doing him the world of good. I think he got the League's player of the week award last week or something similar.
Luke, Brad Holmes and Rob Apter are currently our best hopes of making the grade but until we give them a chance we'll never find out if they are good enough.
The Championship is/was too big a step but League 1 might be more achieveable.

I’ve been travelling all day so just seen this. I’d like to wish MM and TC well. The appointment was a mistake from the off, and this sadly appears to be too late, but I don’t doubt they were trying, so wish them no ill will.

We move on.
