At last a sensible proposal.

My daughter has an 'underlying health condition' but is not yet excused from work.

It's a

BBC News - Coronavirus: Isolation for over-70s 'within weeks'

Obviously not but Donks point will be for all age groups with underlying health problems, why are they not in this group.
plenty of 70 plus that are fit and healthy and plenty of 30 year olds that are not.

We don’t need the Government to tell us. My wife and I are both over 70, she has, owing to 2 bouts of cancer, a much reduced immunity. I have a chest complaint so I would have thought in cases like ours common sense should prevail without advice from anyone. We are staying shut behind closed doors in gofor towers until the worst is over.🤞
You might be acting sensibly but plenty aren't.
There were loads of over 70s at Jepson Way watching the football yesterday.

But now they are going to cancel football for their safety!

We go indoor bowling at Newton Hall on Mondays. I phoned this a.m. to see if it was still on.
They said 'yes' as though everything was O.K.
However, I don't think we'll go tomorrow, average age about 60+ generally, but on Mondays it's all the 'old gits', like us, who go. 😕

How do we support these people for up to 4 months? It's not like it's a week.

I think, in the main, they will support themselves by buying supplies online from supermarkets and having them delivered to the door. The Government have said they will work with supermarkets and delivery companies to ensure it happens.

There will, inevitably, be some old people who are not able to cope with online orders and will need help from neighbours and/or children. We all have to watch out for these cases and help if we can, or call social services to assist. Some old people will still go to the shops regardless - I don't think they'll be arrested for it.

Online is ok if prepared to wait. Overwhelmed by current demand and no fresh stuff.

I dont know if its been mentioned but did anyone see that old lady outside the Spanish hospital on the news? Lost her husband yesterday and was struggling to draw breath but obviously overcome by her grief.

For anyone to suggest that somehow we all need to get the virus quickly is beyond belief and that really brought home how bad this thing is.
