I would have thought he won't play which is a shame because I rate him. Him and Dougal click in midfield. Kenny does all the nasty stuff breaking up play and Embleton's link up play is decent.

Why did they loan him to us? Is he totally out of the picture at Sunderland? Seems odd for a club in the same division to loan a player to a rival? Imagine the scenario if we had pipped Sunderland to the last play off place with Embleton playing a key role for us. Their fans would have gone nuts. (Could still happen!)

It is a shame. I thought he was our best player last night. We look much more of a threat going forward when he's in the team.

Does anyone know if he is injured or not? I'm sure I heard the commentator say that he thought he pulled his calf near the end?

He definitely pulled up after over stretching but then he seemed to shake it off. Fingers crossed it is nothing because he did look really good last night.

Hopefully not the dreaded hamstring. Unless I’m dreaming I thought he was close to the end of his contact at Sunderland & possibly came here to earn a contact or at least put himself in the shop window.

Sunderland took up an option on him for 1 more year before loaning him out, maybe so they get a transfer fee

Sunderland are likely to take the 2nd automatic place which would suit us if Embleton is needed in the Play Offs.
