Carlisle United v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 13.04.24

Finishing outside the playoffs is a underachievement. Especially given how awful the standard of this league is. The worst in over a decade.
Squad is nowhere near the quality the squad that got promoted last from league one. Not even close.

I think this a strong league at the top this season. If Pompey, derby and Bolton go up, I reckon they will all stay up next year.

Dembele is head & shoulders above every outfield player on the pitch.
He is today for sure and has been many games this season, also a few where he did not turn up.

I reckon only he would improve the 2022 promotion winning team ... We had ballard, simms, Yates, Anderson ... All went on to be championship players. Who could step up a division from this team apart from dembele?

Biggest difference is Yates/Simms vrs Beasley/Lavery ... No competition

How many chances to score have we missed this season !!! We just don’t have anybody that can score. Big changes required before next season
Yep, we need a regular scorer of our own next season that can see us up another division without relying on loanees. We’ve always had strikers at this level such as Jerry Yates, Keigan Parker, Scott Taylor, Paul Stewart, Dave Bamber, Brett Ormerod, Tony Ellis etc etc but I don’t see anything like the same calibre in the current squad. Critch needs to find one and fast!!

First half we could have scored 3 or 4. Haven't and now inviting this into an edgy game. It's our own fault.
Isn’t this just the usual, critchley telling them at halftime that if we stop them scoring we’ll win, that’s what he’s said before and the players obviously oblige by sitting back
