A sad indictment of reality tv and everything associated with the pressure and fame that goes with it. I believe this is the 3rd suicide associated with love island alone? Absolutely terrible programme that 3 young people have now taken their own lives because of..... so sad.

Just be a bit careful on this one.....none of the major news sources have run with the story.
They are just saying it's being reported on 'twitter'
Could be true.....but funny no one is willing to say...yet
 
Only her family and close friends will know the circumstances surrounding her death - it is sad to think that a person with so many potential years left is no longer here

I mean, she was due in court for domestic abuse against her partner. Maybe a classless time to bring it up, but he has a point
 
Worrying times for those connected with the sort of programmes that she was connected with. You live your life in the camera flash & all is rosy but when it goes wrong your hounded by the gutter press. they go on about phych support for contestants, wonder what the TV guys do for the hosts when they see them going of the rails?

This like so many other similar stories will have wider details than the ones we think we know ......... but there has got to be some soul searching from some individuals in her case, needless loss of life.

How do you go from having a domestic with the boyfriend to have to go and (allegedly) kill yourself.
This world is f##fed up by social media.

I donā€™t think anyone should rush in and blame anyone else though at this point in time.
Love Island canā€™t take responsibility for this one. The media reported on her alleged abuse story which it was always going to.
Her court case was coming in 2 weeks and if the assault was as described she could have been facing a custodial sentence which may of been a great concern to her. Also she lost her job, which again was the only fair outcome bearing in mind what she had been accused of.

Too many contributors to lazily acuse the press of destroying her life, itā€™s not thatā€™s simple.
It is heartbreaking though because most of these thingā€™s Iā€™m sure she could have got through. Just very hard to see that yourself sometimes.
RIP Caroline and god bless your family at this sad painful time . Life is precious.

No not at all. Would we all be leaping to the defence of a 40 year old man due in court on a domestic abuse case? All I was saying.

Domestic abuse is awful, whether itā€™s man or woman or woman on man. Regardless, itā€™s tragic she decided this was the only way out
 
Yeh Lala, life is precious and it's not helped in any way shape or form when the press and social media put that much pressure on you.
It's bad enough when you're having domestic troubles when you're not a celebrity but then to have to live your troubles in a bubble so all and sundry can comment, must do something to a person's psyche.
Social media isn't used how it should be imo, jesus it's bad enough on here most of the time and the sooner we get away from these so called reality ( but that far removed from reality its ridiculous) the better.
We seem to be among a generation that wants recognition but doesn't want to do anything about obtaining it, then moan when they get the recognition they've craved all their lives but now want to live a private life.
A dangerous downward spiral .
 
She was not my cup of tea at all and Im not going to start saying she was a wonderful person like some will do but its a tragic waste of a young life and that Love Island is a dreadful show now linked to 3 suicides...time to pull the plug as it sends awful peer pressure messages to vulnerable youngsters and encourages outrageous and poor behaviour...I am sure her family should be in peoples thoughts right now...r i p

Prosecutions are made by the crown via the DPP. All this not pressing charges business is a fantasy once the DPP think there is a case.

Thatā€™s messed up. If he didnā€™t want to press charges that should be the end of the matter
 
Police will press charges in domestic abuse cases even if the alleged victim withdraws the charges, as domestic abuse victims often do.
I think itā€™s been a terrible domino effect of events brought on by relationship issues that were obviously getting toxic and violent.
I donā€™t think itā€™s helpful to deny all reality of the situation and just blame the press.
We are in danger of nobody accepting any responsibility these days if thatā€™s the case.
You can still acknowledge a terrible tragedy whilst remaining subjective and aware of the reality.

We are already in a situation where people don't accept responsibility Lala.

Do you think they will dop Love Island now La La? I know a lot of people watch it and it doesnt affect most of the viewers but it does affect some adversely and sends out dangerous messages.
 
I donā€™t think LI is directly involved in this but yes I think they will have to drop it now such will be the outpour.
I watch it occasionally but I canā€™t imagine why anyone would go on it. And Iā€™m nearly 50 and not wracked with the awful insecurities the youngsters of today face.
Yes, it will go now . Not even sure we will see the end of this series out.
