Casey Ban extended

To 3 games following an 'FA hearing', what a joke, I thought 3 games was for violent conduct, absolutely ridiculous.

'Neil Critchley has confirmed to the media that Olly Casey is suspended for a further two matches, starting with tomorrow’s fixture against Bromley. This decision was made at an FA hearing following the defender’s dismissal in last weekend’s match against Peterborough.'

Different rules for Blackpool?
Straight red = 1 game suspension for everyone except us?

The Red CardFor a so-called professional foul, a player will also receive a one-match ban. If the foul in question is dissent, it will normally be a two-match ban. If we are talking about violent conduct, the punishment is normally a three-match ban.

Makes absolutely no sense, the EFL and the FA are a bunch of clueless clowns.

How can they possibly justify that?

From Critch:
Olly Casey won’t be available either. He had a one game ban but that’s been extended by a further two games by the FA for not leaving the field of play and for some of the words that he spoke to the match official.

It will be a one match ban for the foul and an extra 2 for dissent I bet, although technically the dissent covers the first game of the 2 extra.

This will have been the referee's report.

Edit as GJ posted above.

The ref had it in for us from start to end.
Disgraceful.
Wish the fa could watch his inept & biased performance!
The could if they wanted. This is part of the ongoing punishment beating being handed out to us by the FA in retaliation for our protests outside their HQ. I took part in those protests and would do the same again. In hindsight instead of noisy but peaceful protests, we should have bricked the f*****g windows.

It’s not Casey who wants looking into it’s the ref.
Quite possibly the most bent ref I’ve seen at Bloomfield road for some time.
He’s actually gone out his way to stick the boot in aswell.

First time watched this back due to being mightily angry but it's no wonder we lost with defending like that. Casey was made a fool of and then Husband passing it straight to their player.

Our defence was once our only positive, now it is the sole reason why we will finish mid-table this season.

The question should be, did we appeal and if so, why?

He got red carded and it was a touch harsh but we would have called for a red in reverse circumstances. If he then shows dissent and gives the ref abuse there's no excuse and it's time players learnt how to respect refs like wot rugger players do. Extra ban inevitable. Suck it up.

To be honest, I think the refs need to grow a bit of a backbone in that situation really. It’s a reaction!!

Many Top class refs have used a bit of industrial language themselves and unless the player completely crossed the line would have likely let it wash over them.

The very last thing we want is for football to lose the common touch and adopt the whole ‘gentlemanly conduct’ associated with Rugby and Cricket…

Anyway it’s too late now… We obviously got a Jobsworth Ref and Casey is out for a couple more games. In a way it helps to make the tough call that Critchley need to make without denting Casey’s confidence… And Marv has his opportunity to reclaim his place in the side.

We don't know what was said. This was a procedural incident and I have 100% confidence that the ref will have followed all the required rules. No doubt telling Casey he needed to leave the pitch and he'd be reported if not. These are just rules to follow and not how they see various in play incidents. They'll have sessions on this exact incident.

The ref will be cock on with this. Whether he was with the red card is more moot, but I think he was.

We need to lose the idea that we are the classroom weed and everyone is bullying us.

At first glance I thought you’d said the ref will have been a cock with this one.

I was about to agree 😂

Like I say, it’s probably a blessing in disguise …

You guys are, of course, also right that he should have just used his noggin and got off the pitch, bit his tongue and avoided the extra ban.

I thought it was a red but can't see how that's right. You see players being restrained by teammates, waving their arms about and going mad. I didn't see any of that at the time. If he said something, well dissent is a booking, so how do they extend a ban by 2 games?

That ref was truly appalling, I hope we object to him ever being assigned a BFC game again.

If an assessor was there the ref deserves at least a 3 game ban
Or the sack for his total incompetence & bias for 90+ mins!

He’s clearly said something he shouldn’t have to the referee who’s included it in his report, no agenda, just reporting what he’s been called.

I highly doubt the referee or indeed the FA will be influenced about the protest that was done outside the…. EFL office 🤦🏻‍♂️

I hope this sending off is a one off, unlike last season when our players were being sent off every few games! The players need to figure out where to draw the line n the refs should be a bit thicker skinned ffs. Player tells him to fuck of so ref books him as he doesn’t like that and can’t use his discretion, so then the crowd call him wanker and Cnut etc for the rest of the game. Imagine if fans got sent off/out… there would only be those in the West left in the ground. 😂

Here's one for you. My wife's a Wolves fan so I'm following this. The Wolves Sporting Director is on a misconduct charge after comments he made to the officials after the Newcastle game where.they were given a penalty that clearly wasn't. The Referee from that game has been demoted to the Championship this Saturday 🤣

Would things have been different on Tuesday? Am not sure and we now have two games where we can do without him and so no damage done.

The club should have communicated that it was due to dissent, the assumption from that tweet is like it's due to the foul

Shame he wasn’t so keen on following the rules when he was reffing the match!

Would this be the same ref who give free kicks for off-side but allows the free kick to taken from the wrong half?
And do the EFL watch the play-backs of referee’s decisions?
Just curious.
