Casey red card

Annoying, but for balance there’s been a couple of decisions that have gone our way this season, which maybe shouldn’t have.

It's a red card, the ref was never going to be lenient given how shockingly biased he was towards Posh. The minutes will have done Marv good, he'll be playing the next 2 games for sure.

Live thought it was never a red as I thought Grimmy was close enough to the play, watched the replay and I’m still if the same opinion. Horrific defending mind

I was coming up from the concourse when it happened and didn’t think it was a red but looking back I’d be screaming for it if I was them. He’s got a clear shot at goal

Casey has been great since he got a run of games but he's not the quickest and got found out by being turned, pace is not his friend.

if the Hamilton incident wasnt a penalty then there was no way that was a free kick and hence not a red card. completely inconsistent in decision making.

might be a blinkered tangerine tinted point of view, but from watching it a dozen times or more, it looks like the Pish lad pushed through to get forward putting casey off balance and the both fell over, based on the refs other decisions where Kouassi and Rhodes were involved at the other end it might have been a free kick our way.

Looking at the highlights Casey cant of been the last man, Husband was in the box and the offence was committed outside the box. Yellow card every day of the week!!!!!!!!!! Blackpool referees summed up in 90 minutes.

For me it's a failure of the system as much it is the clumsiness of Casey. If you play a back three then they have to be "connected" to each other when out of possession. Instead Pennington and Husband tend to stray into full back roles leaving Casey exposed. It's probably not going to happen but I would revert to a back four with Ekpiteta coming back in and with Gabriel and Lyons now available.

At the time I thought red, but not the very best angle from my seat. Having seen it since, you can argue they both fell over, but those decisions tend to get given and the second he blows his whistle, it's a red card still for me, because on his feet, he has a chance to take a shot with just the keeper to beat. Whether he's Messi or not isn't taken in to account as far as I know. If he shot bottom left, maybe penno can stick a leg out but it's doubtful IMO.

If that's their defender, I'm shouting for a pen and a red card (but probably would be disappointed with that useless ref!).

More annoying for me was the ref allowing their players to sit down every time they lost the ball, when we were on top. I didn't notice players being booked for this, despite new regs this season. It was laughable when one of their players was down second half, the ref was motioning for their medics to come on, but they didn't, because they knew he was faking, and they didn't want him off the field after 'treatment'.

It's becoming more and more common that if a team is under a bit of pressure then a player goes down "injured" so the ref stops play which disrupts the attacking teams momentum/flow
It also gives teams a chance to have a discussion on tactics whilst on the touchline getting refreshments.
Something needs to be done about it.

I agree. But I don't see us doing it. Wouldn't want to either. Think it's the worst thing about football at this level.

I wouldn't Rocks, it was a yellow all day long. Yet another referee who shit himself at this level and ultimately cost us !
From where I was sat in the south end of the west I said he’s off straight away. At the time he only had the keeper to beat so that’s denying a goal scoring opportunity. If Hubby was the last defender that’s another issue. I’d be amazed if it’s overturned, but would be delighted if it was.

The worst thing for me regarding their playacting was, the ref finally cottoned on near the end and told Mason-Clark off for it, Clark got up immediately and was finger wagging in the refs face and got nothing. Meanwhile dougall booked for either an innocuous foul or for daring to say something about the obvious foul on Dembele he missed. Seemed very one sided and I could see why critchley lost the plot.
