Casey showing his quality

The back 3 were very solid yesterday, bar our usual one crazy moment. Casey had a great game but I thought he struggled at time against Nombe whereas Marv had him in his pocket for most of the game. Husband put in another great shift but Norburn was outstanding again and my MOM.

Marv's long legs are his get out of jail card. Would rather Casey or Pennington played the centre of the three CB's, both far more comfortable on the ball. NC's remit is to improve players Ekpiteta is a lost cause in possession. He can't cope with having to make a decision. I was convinced the Exeter front three were told to let him have the ball.

Marv is comfortably our best defender for what he's on the pitch to do and that is mark his men and DEFEND. It's only when in possession he has too much time on the bal that he makes mistakes. Somehow between Critchley and the other central defenders we need to sort that out and as Willie says it may be better to put Marv as the wider right player of the back three so he's not on the ball as much as the central man. Ridiculous for people to think that he should be dropped.

Personally thought Casey looked all at sea early on, struggled a few times with balls over the top/in behind. Definitely improved though and ended up having a decent game, not sure how I'd feel about him in a back four though.
