Charlie adam appointed

If true this could be a big mistake by Charlie given the hire-em, fire-em culture at Fleetwood . I remember listening to him on a BBC Scotland podcast about his coaching U-21 job at Burnley and the possible move into club management. I distinctly remember him saying that the first job is the most important because if you fail you might not get another chance!

I think he's been an acquaintance of Pilley for some time (as I imagine dozens of ex Pool players before anyone says anything). Wouldn't surprise me if he's doing it as a favour.

Suppose he can't exactly turn down what might be a rare chance at getting his start in league management but seems a bit of a poisoned chalice.

Can't say I've ever paid much attention to Fleetwood, but with the owner banged up and seeing that on the natural balance of things they'd be nowhere near the conference, let alone league one what can they be expecting?.

Good luck to him though, absolute legend.

There appears to be so little upside to that job. Saving them from relegation would be an achievement, and then you would have to do it all over again next season.

They are easily in the 4 smallest clubs in the division and were they to stay up they would be the smallest next season.

It'll be good to see him back at Bloomfield Road as a manager if he gets the job. I'm sure he'll get a good reception from 99.9% of us.

I hope he does a good job for them and then who knows...

Does a half decent job then he gets a bigger gig. Risky though as if he fails he’ll have to drop lower down to get back in.

Surprised some idiots on here have not been calling for him to be ours, clowns

O
No one has said that though, I wouldn’t want him as our manager like I wouldn’t want Dobbie now either, he should have been given a chance instead of Critchley but the momentum has gone now and apart from being temporary manager if Critchley was potted, I wouldn’t want any ex player who had not managed previously. We missed out on 2 ex players who Sadler should have employed, Evatt and then Edwards, it they had proved themselves in management. As for Charlie, we will now see what he is made of as a manager, if he does badly then he will have to look further down the leagues, if he does well then we would be right at looking at him.

If he does well we would be behind a long queue.
