I personally think Apter is a far better player than Kirk
Possibly the recruitment team is just Critch on the blower between sessions? If we sign Kirk, I’d like to know what the actual fcuking fcuk the recruitment team actually do all day?
Its a fair point. We'd be better using Apter probably. Loads of ability and will improve with game time. Higher ceiling.I personally think Apter is a far better player than Kirk
Even if he is, which I'm not sure of yet as I haven't seen enough of him, Critchley doesn't give him a chance so we are stuck with CJ. We all know how highly Critchley rates Kirk, so if by signing him we have someone that starts ahead of CJ, then I'm all for it.I personally think Apter is a far better player than Kirk
He has neither the pace nor engine for a wing back. Not a horrible signing by any means.
Was one of Charlton’s standout players in pre season with 4 goal involvements (I know it doesn’t mean much, but also doesn’t mean nothing).
Very curious how he will be deployed; does NC see him as a LWB or a winger to change the shape of the team?
Will be interesting if we get Longman too as he typically plays as a RW, are both these signings an indication of a potential change of shape?
We don’t develop Development squad players beyond the Development squad though. Its a fair point. We'd be better using Apter probably. Loads of ability and will improve with game time. Higher ceiling.
What an ‘orrible picture you paint. It would of course go horribly wrong in the medical room and we'd get CJ's technical ability and Kirk's pace. And a flat head with Kirk's face on the front and CJ's on the back.
Feels like we'll sign Kirk cos we've no awareness of other possible options. Scouting seems pretty minimal?
Watch former Crewe players. If we sign Kirk, I’d like to know what the actual fcuking fcuk the recruitment team actually do all day?
I dont get why we don't give Apter a chance. Critchley is meant to be developing our young players, but starts a guy that puts his crosses in row S before a lad that's clearly talented. It's infuriating.I personally think Apter is a far better player than Kirk
There’ll be money involved in getting any of them - don’t hold your breath! We’ll be shopping in the free to good home section.Yeh if we can get Kirk Longman Cosgrove & Moxon & the lad from Villa think we’ll be alright.
We all knew how highly he rated Dale, that went well.Even if he is, which I'm not sure of yet as I haven't seen enough of him, Critchley doesn't give him a chance so we are stuck with CJ. We all know how highly Critchley rates Kirk, so if by signing him we have someone that starts ahead of CJ, then I'm all for it.
Got more chance of my dad admitting it's his round without being prompted than the club spending that sort of money. There’ll be money involved in getting any of them - don’t hold your breath! We’ll be shopping in the free to good home section.
I'd still rather have Kirk playing than CJ. At the end of the day, it's not down to who we think is good, it's down to Critchley. Also Dale had a good season at Pompey last year so there's a player in him, just need to play him in his actual position to see it.We all knew how highly he rated Dale, that went well.
Dale had such a good season at Pompey they made no effort to sign him. In fact the manger said “ if he improved his final ball and his finishing, he would be a good player” not a great endorsement. On your first point, I would rather have virtually anybody playing than Hamilton.I'd still rather have Kirk playing than CJ. At the end of the day, it's not down to who we think is good, it's down to Critchley. Also Dale had a good season at Pompey last year so there's a player in him, just need to play him in his actual position to see it.
Its the only attribute he does use, it's once the pace has done the business and he actually he has to play football that he strugglesIt would be if he used it.
I raised this and was told that we have a new stand and training ground to pay for.Surely we can do better, we must have money in the pot, unless it’s all gone for operating costs.
I liked your reply, but I don’t reallyI raised this and was told that we have a new stand and training ground to pay for.
David 'Mr photo opportunity ' Beckham made a career out of never beating his man.He is good at corners, but he never beat his man. Sorry but it does sound a bit like a cheap option, barrel scraping, and Charlton’s new manager may want to look at him before selling. We certainly do not want another player who hates tackling, heading, and running.
Maybe if we can get them both into a 5xl kit together they can nullify their negative attributes and be a quality player?...He's basically the other end of the 'flawed winger' spectrum to CJ... all touch and no pace.
Running in different direction, stretching the shirt like a giant net, could be an effective tactic at times.Maybe if we can get them both into a 5xl kit together they can nullify their negative attributes and be a quality player?...
Because we are Blackpool and not Man Utd . We are not a massive club ,but we can sure punch above our weight if we get things right and that means bringing in players that can do a job for us and possibly improve us ,so we can bring in better for the future. I am sure that plenty of Blackpool fans would like Kane and Sala playing for us ,but we have to be realistic and it seems most level headed Blackpool fans think that this is a solid player for us.Boring, dull, bottom of the barrel signing who’s not done anything of note anywhere else.
Why are we half arsing it again
The only thing wrong with that post is Kirk running?Running in different direction, stretching the shirt like a giant net, could be an effective tactic at times.
When is the future? We appear to be going backwards, both in the quantity of football and footballers.Because we are Blackpool and not Man Utd . It could still work if he stands still and CJ runs tbf.The only thing wrong with that post is Kirk running?
Think Critchley plays lip service to supporting recruitment team, but then does not select those players and insidiously brings in ex Crewe players to fill the squad. If we sign Kirk, I’d like to know what the actual fcuking fcuk the recruitment team actually do all day?
Don't be silly.Because we are Blackpool and not Man Utd . It's relative to where we are. No reason why we shouldn't be competing for good players, not players previously considered and then rejected.

When you have watched Blackpool for 50 years , you know there will be an upturn at some stage. When is the future? We appear to be going backwards, both in the quantity of football and footballers.
So ,what makes you an expert on good players that we can afford . I would have signed him first time around as his service to our strikers was twice as good as Bowlers, who I thought was a one trick pony ,yet its just an opinion like yours.Don't be silly.

No problem with you having an opinion. So ,what makes you an expert on good players that we can afford . I would have signed him first time around as his service to our strikers was twice as good as Bowlers, who I thought was a one trick pony ,yet its just an opinion like yours.
Only 50, come back when you can beat 70. Years watching that is, not age. When you have watched Blackpool for 50 years , you know there will be an upturn at some stage.
Over 41 years since the 1978 Blackburn Rovers game for an upturn to the same standard. When you have watched Blackpool for 50 years , you know there will be an upturn at some stage.
That's exactly the impression these rumours confirm. Recruitment think tank, stats from around the globe then Critchley flips open his mobile & says I think I've still got Charlie's number. He'll do as I say & won't answer back. I can create a world beaterThink Critchley plays lip service to supporting recruitment team, but then does not select those players and insidiously brings in ex Crewe players to fill the squad.

You would think that players like that grow on trees . How many flare players did we have playing for us last year and see where it got us . You need to walk before you can run . I prefer to see solid hard workers that grind out results and then bring in better players when things improve.I’m not asking us to sign Kane or Salah lad
Just maybe someone with a bit of flare who has had a good last few seasons and has proven themselves at this level.
If you think that’s too much to ask then you really do think very little of the club you support
Sorry I used Kane and Sala, but I haven't a clue about the players you are thinking of that you can get on our budget ,so I used them as an example ,I though most people would realise this.No problem with you having an opinion.
Your comment about having Kane and Salah were just plain stupid tbh. Nobody expects stupid money being spent.
As is Kirk v Bowler, but you're entitled to that thought.
Fair enough.Sorry I used Kane and Sala, but I haven't a clue about the players you are thinking of that you can get on our budget ,so I used them as an example ,I though most people would realise this.
Unless I've confused what you're trying to say, it was 30 years to get back to the level we were at in that Blackburn game.Over 41 years since the 1978 Blackburn Rovers game for an upturn to the same standard.
