Cheltenham Town v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 13.02.24

That was embarrassing. Must be the low point of the season. That aimless long ball stuff, rarely winning the headers or the 2nd ball was fit for the bottom half of league 2.

If you think Sadler will act your all deluded! We'll stick with Critch because Simon won't want the run off from sacking a manager when we're 9th in the league..

He's the only name on the list remember

We are just so passive,it summed it up for me when early in second half Lyons was stood over the ball just outside our penalty area taking his time to pass it to Grimshaw who lobbed it straight one of their players in the centre circle

Oh just do one you utter fool. He’s pumped millions in he doesn’t pick the team or the tactics
Do one yourself idiot - my point was directed at the fact Sadler appointed Critchley , nothing to do with investment. Where did I put that?

So with that inane comment I take it you disagree with me and a multitude of other supporters and want Critchley as Manager?

Just back from the game, not sure how it looked on TV but it was fcuking woeful at the game.
Everyone playing badly, no confidence, no midfield, clueless, and inept.
Players looked out of sorts too - trouble in the camp?
Whatever you do don’t watch it back. Life’s too short.

Did the players and manager bother to go over to the fans? If so did they get the reception that rancid performance warranted?

Hope the fans gave him and the players shit when they came over cos that was the drizzling shits
My lad was at the game, apparently there was no "sacked in the morning" chant like MA got at the Wigan game last season.
I wasn't a fan of Appleton, but he was supported a lot less than Critch with signings and was given less time.

I really hope there's a release clause in Critch's contract (perhaps performance related), and that we can get an experienced manager in, preferably someone who can react to what's happening in front of him (before the 70th minute).

A very disappointing season again, and whatever you say about the players' performances, it's got to be down to the manager and his stubborn persistence with a system which doesn't often work away from home

Yes the players came over
I've never heard a Blackpool away support have a go at the players like tonight. And it was well deserved.

No idea what is going on behind the scenes but the tactics were inept for the team we were playing against, but worse, none of them put a shift in tonight.

There is plenty of whingeing on here about playing the ball sideways in defence but tonight not one of the midfield or the forwards could be arsed to make a run and try and create some space for a pass.

So, in the end, when the defender got closed down he ended up having to hoof it forward to their 3 seven foot giants in centre defence.

It was beyond clueless.......but hey, at least it stopped raining after it had pissed it down all day and i didn't get soaked on my cycle to and from the ground.

Had a pint with a couple of my Cheltenham mates after the game and they couldn't believe how shit we were. Depressing.

There was just no movement or support as the never looked like they wanted it as bad as Cheltenham, second to every ball too passive

On the other hand, discussing the dismissal of a professional, even in a sporting context, could inadvertently endorse a culture of impulsivity and negativity, potentially contributing to job insecurity and stress. I cannot facilitate communication that may exacerbate such an environment.
