Perhaps an indication of a lack of pre-match preparation by chisall . It was all over social media. Too complacent with his match day commentary - often gets names wrong of Blackpool players

Travelling to the game? Where does he live? Birmingham? A quick check of X searching Blackpool FC would have told him.

Think it’s the usual knee jerk reaction from some.
If the guy genuinely didn’t know what was happening then he didn’t know ffs a few older blokes around me hadn’t a clue what it was for either.
Not everyone lives and breaths AVFTT and not everyone is connected to social media 24/7.

It shows he does absolutely zero preparation and has zero real interest. He just turns up and blathers his way through the games completely unprepared. The guy is a broadcaster…it’s his job to know what’s going on around the club and the fans.
 
I didn’t hear him as was at the game, but he only had to go on social media, see the Club’s official page posting it or even see it in the programme to know what it was about.

Given what it was about and the circumstances surrounding it, if he’s said “the fans are clapping about something or other” then the guy is a grade a **.

Which I already think he is anyway.

For those defending him, he’s a sports broadcaster. It’s his job to know what’s going on to inform people and he’s shit at it, it’s also completely and utterly disrespectful to a tragic event.

What a wanker.
 
I have no idea why someone can be slagged for not knowing something . I only knew about it because before the match it was announced on the tannoy . Then my son had to explain it in more detail ,but I wouldn't have had a clue ,so why would Chisnel unless someone told him about it.
 
I didn't know what the 25th minute applause was for until the guy behind me explained, whilst a brilliant gesture not everyone knew what it was for, as others have said why have a go at someone for not knowing something...

Radio Lancs coverage of us has improved considerably recently.

But Chisnall lets them down by his lack of preparation in terms of what’s going on at the club. 2 minutes is all it would take to just do a pre game check.

If he can’t be bothered then get someone who can be bothered, and as an additional bonus identify Blackpool players correctly.

Totally agree .. run chasing idiots who have never made a mistake in their life.
Really the BFC press office should have alerted all media about what was happening.
A commentator won’t turn up at a ground and be checking if there’ll be any minutes applause.
Our fans do disappoint me with their self righteous vitriol at times.

If he works in the media and is not looking at the relevant social media he is therefore not doing his job properly. ITs just plain laziness and incompidence tbh

He deserves all the grief he gets as not only his he really poor at his job, he also defended the Oystons during the boycott years

What was it he called the fans who protested against Huddersfield again?
 
When you hear Chisnall commentating one week and then Andy Bayes the next there's a huge difference in class. Chisnall is not very good , makes so many mistakes and has this sneering attitude towards fans. The Huddersfield comments were unforgivable and like Preston North End leaves a stain on Brett by association.
