CJ

He's technically a terrible footballer, first touch and control are appalling, which was on show again a few times last night. No composure either, should have scored last night but smashed it over when in on goal.

He's a League 2/National League footballer with electric pace, some of which he's lost since his injuries.

Suggest you watch the recent games since he returned, his touch, pace, composure and passing / accurate pull backs from wide.

He’s a much better player in a 442 and with a link man like Jerry. He did not benefit from Hubby at wing back, like he did when James played there. On the other side, Bowler benefited from having Sterling creating an overlap.

L2/National League - right up there with the most stupid posts I’ve seen on here.

I've watched every game, his touch is atrocious, last night on a few occasions the ball bounced off him and he lost possession. His crossing has improved recently I'll give him that, he's still a terrible footballer though.

Wish he would use his physicality and strength more. He plays (often well) like a dainty, speedy winger but he should be brushing players aside and making more surging runs into the box, for my liking.
He got dominated in the air last night even though he is over 6ft and was about 4/5 inches taller than the person marking him. Horror show from CJ.

Couldn’t have put it better myself and there’s nothing wrong with that. He’s a good option of the bench but imo shouldn’t be starting.

The ball bobbled last night just as CJ took his shot. I agree that he needs more space to run into and is not a 'tricky' winger in tight spaces. The pitch didnt help him (nor others) last night. I also agree that he needs to use his height and be more aggressive in his play, as he tends to get bullied off the ball in tight one on ones.

Since hes come back from injury, hes got better and better. There were numerous times last night where he was holding the ball up and using his strength to hold off the defender. you can see when hes running with the ball now hes always looking to see who's around him / in the box which is somethng he didnt do when he first arrived. He should have done better with the chance he had, but you could say the same about the three times Bowler missed against Swansea.

If other players hadnt been quite so wasteful in front of goal he would have a half dozen assists to his name. Is he Gareth Bale or Ryan Giggs? No. but hes decent value for me, puts in a shift - gets us half a dozen decent opportunities every game, and when he gets going with the ball in front of him it wakes up the crowd.

think the criticism above is really harsh.

yep, didn't rate CJ at all but since he's come back from his last injury think he's done really well. Do generally agree with the comments though. His touch isn't the best so he's not great in tight spaces and perhaps why he didn't have a great game last night.

Touch was atrocious for quite a few of them last night to be honest. I don't think he uses his strength enough but he does add something different running outside the defender as opposed to Bowler always cutting in.

I think CJ is a decent league 1 player who's pace pushes him to be a championship player and there are games he will do well in the championship as the ladt few games have shown. Last night was all wrong for him. When playing the better teams his flaws are badly exposed, touch isn't good and he's closed down quickly which makes it worse, generally they defend and take his speed away and limit him to the odd chance to cross or shoot and unfortunately hes not a great finisher and snatches at things as the blazed over when clean through shows.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying hes rubbish and he will have his uses but I really do think it's off the bench and on that let's be honest Keshi will be our wide left midfielder without any doubt.

He had a poor game last night having said that, the formation and set up of the team did not suit him for one moment. I thought Kirky had a very good game on Saturday and was very surprised he wasn’t given the opportunity to start again last night, after all it’s not as if he needs resting

He’s a league one player. Because he’s fast he will have moments at this level but generally it’s like playing with ten men. Touch and strength are non existent, and his effort on goal, dunno what you can say about hitting it 4 yards over the bar from 8 yards out.

He is much improved on his recent games, we played a good team last night.
He did the best shoulder barge a few games back I’d seen in years and got a yellow card for it. Tough being a footballer with so many critics

If we had that elusive creative footballer in midfield instead of hoofing it long to Madine, or relying on Bowler to produce some magic, CJ might actually get better service to demonstrate his best asset more often.
