Clayton Park Pies

Oh dear I had high hopes that the pies would be sorted now with the new supplier .

Think we should cut them a bit of slack first game etc.

Tbh I don’t understand why SS doesn’t just make them at home before he sets off for the game and make himself some decent profit .

He’s supposed to be a businessman.

If anyone had tried them at other local grounds they would have know what to expect.

Nothing special, fell apart half way through and was a mess to eat.

Overall, it was... alright, at best, the previous ones were better when they got the flavour right.

But, it's a pie...

Had steak quite peppery won't be buying again
However I will try meat and potato looked a bit Holland's ish

Meat & potato, was a bit of a mush inside, but quite tasty & definite improvement on last years offerings IMHO

Run out of Cheese and Onion by the time I got there .. am sure these places think that football fans are all big, fat, hairy meat eaters and forget some are veggies!

"Mush"

I really don't know what people expect.

Gourmet beef dinner wrapped in the finest filo pastry?

It's a ** pie. From a ** warmer.

It's like going to one of them burger vans and expecting anything more than a charbroiled burger in a bun with plastic cheese and Ketchup that is 80% vinegar that you always get from one of them kinds of burger vans.

Why don't people just go to cottage bakery pre match, it's about 5 mins from the ground?

There’s so much nonsense talked about pies. I had one on Saturday, it was superb. Clayton Park pies are as good as they get but on here … no. It like a weird wine tasting session for savoury food products. Pork Shop wasn’t good enough either apparently !!!! They’re pies for gods sake

It's only your say that really matters so I'm expecting a full pie review
They were standard football pies Phil. More like Holland's were. Potato and meat was the usual stewed mush but still tasty. Could do with more pepper for me. Will try the steak and kidney next time. Spar sell them so if any of you missed out then try them from there. Here to help.

Thought as much thanks for the review

Looking forward to the Steak review next week

Why don’t you eat before the game or pick up a pie from Greggs on the way in? I always used to have fish and chips before a game or eat in the pub.

The meat and potato pies, peas and gravy in the old supporters club back in the 80’s were great with a pint after the game on a cold winter’s afternoon

Going to start that now.

Got out of the habit of buying food in the ground in the early days of NAPM. Not got back into it really.

Last Saturday was pudding chips peas and gravy with a mug of tea at Yorkshire Fisheries, prior to a few pints in the Cask and Tap, then a couple in the Armfield.

Not much appetite by the time I was in the ground😉

I grab a good pie at cottage bakery b4 match opposite Bloomfield pub, good & half the price & cooked properly!
If time washed down by a pint!

Greggs don't sell pies 🙄

I had a steak pie. It was ok. Bit peppery. But hot and had flavour, which is an improvement on last season. Not a fan of the plastic wrapper, but probably better that being breathed and coughed on by the staff and people standing next to you.

I’d have been asleep before I got to the ground after all that lot
