Curious as to peoples thoughts on this one. Would people be yay or nay for modernising our club badge? I don't mean totally changing it, I mean more keeping the same general design but making it look a bit more modern now that the club's in a new era. I feel like there's a lot of traditionalists on here that would say nay but worth doing a poll/ discussing.

I was just about to say the Leeds one that was suggested is a perfect example 😂 I've added tower power as an option to the poll though that's not a bad shout, I wouldn't mind it.

I love the badge. When so many clubs have gone for stylised business-type logos, the coat of arms is something that anchors the club to its roots. As LT says, it's beautiful.

I always think that the tower power version looks a bit phallic...but that's something I'll need to talk to my therapist about.

Most people further then Lancashire wont even realise its a BFC shirt with the Tower Power logo alone

What I would like to see is the current badge on the home shirt with a white circular background (like on the clubs twitter display picture) because currently the colour on the badge just blends into the shirt and you can only really see the grey /white parts unless you're really up close.

Love threads like these. 👍
Keep it the same love our badge just wish they would use it all the time on leisure wear as I don't do football tops.

The result doesn't surprise me one bit. This site is full of old people.

If you were to offer it to 13 - 30 year olds they would opt for something other than a sterile piece of victoriana for a badge I'm sure.

Am I classed as old? What is the cut off age point to be associated with these old old voting folk?

The club were granted the right to wear the Town crest by the Council - its an honour bestowed to few clubs and signifies the pride the town has in the club and the clubs pride in representing the town - leave it be!

For all that, the Tower Power logo is great and I can’t see why it can’t be used on branded leisurewear and the like.

We did a poll not so long ago and the average age was 56 I think. that's a pretty old demograph. Nowt wrong with that of course but certainly one that would be less open to modernisation and change.

We did this the other week so I will post this up again.

It was Nottingham Forest that started this trend in an “Iconic” feature on their club badge. Not many towns have such a feature that is recognisable outside of the local area (Forest and Nottingham being associated with Sherwood Forest and Robin Hood) so that’s why these logo badges are few and far between.

I think Leeds United that were one of the first to muck about with their badge (I’m sure Plumbs will correct me) but the script on the LUFC and the smiley face badge put them ahead of the game marketing wise.

The badge above though looks brilliant 👍

Yes!!! I'm not old!!! JACKPOT. Its offical if an offical avftt poll has been taken

As someone posted before ( sorry can’t remember whom) the tower logo looks like a advertisement for ‘spar’ especially to those with no connection to the mighty

I remember visiting Ayr United, the Club shop were selling everything at Poundstretcher prices. When I asked why it was all so cheap, the woman running it said they had no choice. Some Airdrie fan had reported them for having their Club badge on a shield and not having registered it with the heraldry commission. Legal action was threatened and Ayr had to get rid of anything with the Club badge on a shield ASAP.

See my post above. There are lots of club crests, obviously, but how many are instantly recognisable. As worn by Mathews, Morty, Armfield, Ball, oh I could go on. Nah on this one I would keep what we have got. Love the tower thing, ....... but it looks just a bit phallic

Scrap that tangerine colour and have something new with stripes and flashing colours...

Was nice having both on the Errea Kits - maybe Puma could do the same incorporate both - even if it’s just a little tower power logo on the collar, back of collar or sleeves ?

Puma actually do some really cool (not to everyone’s taste mind) fabrics which are unique to clubs (Man City and Marseille for anyone fancying a quick google) and the tower logo would be brilliant as part of the actual fabric design then paired with the traditional badge
