Come on, just one season defining signing ✍️ 🤔

I think things will change dramatically come the summer. I don’t mean huge amounts of money spent on players and everything tangerine clouds, I mean the penny will finally drop and we will hear from Sadler, the fact he’s said fuck all says it all, things are not right, far from it. I think he’ll announce the sale of the club, say it was an honour and a dream to have done what he did but it wasn’t what he expected, wasn’t prepared for the amount of work involved but had put the club on a solid financial footing and was now handing it over to an owner who could take the club forward, blah, blah, blah

I’m surprised so many supporters think he’s the saviour, he isn’t and he never was, he thought he could do it but, hey, shit happens.

I never agree with BISONS but he’s hit the nail smack bang n the middle on this one.
What if he does stay and proves you wrong? Particularly in bulidng the east and TG, what will you say then?

You seem to have had it in for him from the go and come up with ever wilder theories and post them as fact, when it's only fact in your head.

What are you basing the latest proof on? Jan business has been done early and most were happy with it. Can always want more but we probably have enough. We're a club in the bottom 3 that doesn't pay big wages, always a hard window anyway but even harder where we are.

We've done some decent business.

Him not coming out with a random statement or responding to rumours doesn't actually mean anything, he's always been on the quiet side.

Not sure anyone could predict a guy who runs a secretive hedgefund might be .... secretive. 😲

I suppose anything is possible, but last time you said you based all this on.... just a feeling about him, sorry but that's poor.

sadler is the saviour. Even if he walked away tommorow morning he is the saviour. He stepped up and put his own dough on the table then got us promoted. The championship is a rich mans game and I wouldnt expect him to do his conkers attempting to compete with some of these massive clubs with huge resources. He has done more than enough and still continues to do.

If he did plan to sell I would be comfortable that he would find the best possible hands to take us forward and improve us,he is a supporter of the club.

Also, the last time he made a statement everyone sulked like they had been told off.Why would he bother. It doesnt take a lot for some of our fans to turn on people they would possibly turn on Sadler.

In a way Sadlers mistake was to engage in the habit of communicating via open letters. He’d have been better off doing all his talking through delivery and the odd Mansford statements rather than floating aspirations, and keeping his “told you so” broadsides to the fans to himself. I don’t want to hear from him, I just want the team to do well and for capital projects to be delivered in a realistic and achieve able fashion alongside that. Those that say “I just want us to stay in this division and capital projects are not necessary” are repeating the rhetoric that took us to the point of a ramshackle ground on the verge of being condemned and a training ground that some non league clubs would be embarrassed about.

If he had “given up on the club” then I doubt he would have cared for changing the manager he’d invested so much in and allowed players to come in whilst selling no-one.

I hope he does prove me wrong, I would be super happy if he did. He’s a million times better than the stains and Carmell before them. I’m trying to look at it from a different perspective and I don’t think the points I raise are unreasonable. It hasn’t gone as he’d hoped, I can’t agree that we got promotion too quickly, we got it and deserved it and he has to take massive credit for that and for funding us through Covid at the same time. I think a lot of the problems we are seeing now stem from the complete surprise of Quitchley going to Villa, no one saw that coming and he must have felt betrayed. I bet if you asked Quitchley what he would do if he could go back I bet he would say he wished he had stayed here, but by following that path Sadler and BB have struggled to get the train back on the tracks. If MM and the layers can keep us up that will be amazing and will take us down one path, if he fails then it takes us down another and they have to have their ducks lined up in a row for both eventualities . We too players on long contracts, nothing wrong with that but if they’re out injured all the time or aren’t quite good enough then that has a massive impact on cost. We could start pre season with 11 first team squad members and depending on what league we are in will see how much we have for wages and signing new players so recruitment has to be spot on and for the last 3 windows it hasn’t been not for bringing in players who aren’t loans. But I’m not going to apologise for asking the questions why it has been so poor.

Some updates would t be a bad thing, saying nowt is like hiding away and being defensive. Maybe he thinks that if he says anything it might make it worse, I don’t know.

Anyway, I’m high temperature Covid infested rambling, may well be a bit down at the moment but whatever happens let’s hope we stay up and move forward as one.

I bet you’re an over thinker arnt you? You seem adamant something is wrong because there is no statement, do you really think he can be arsed responding to every rumour people like BISONS like to make up? If we get relegated we get relegated, that’s football.
As for the training ground and East stand let’s see what happens eh and give him a chance.

I think it’s pretty obvious we lack quality and will probably go down. It’s now over to Mick to perform a miracle.

I am at the moment, far too much time n my hands a literally feeling like utter shit thanks to this bastard virus.

In an ideal world I would like us to stay up and hope that next season we rebuild again with a new manager and someone like MM as director of football, great if it’s him with TC as an experienced coach to support he new manager and further experienced coaches around him.

Let the guys from Coventry in unison with the manager and director of football release the players we don’t want, try and keep those we do and go back to the original plan but get a mix of up and coming younger players with some seasoned, experienced players and use the loan system for sure but don’t depend on it.

I want Sadler to do well, but I want him to be happy doing it.

What's he done to make you doubt him and his intentions?

We had a poor manager choice (but he obviouslythough it could work out), mixed summer but the intent is there, Brannagan was big money and agreed but Oxford offered silly wages, club can't expect that to happen.

We signed Wright for a rumoured 750k ish, didn't work out but can't fault the intent of the money man, it fell down due to selecting the target.

We've not found it easy to secure top players but which smaller club at this level does?

When you have our budget and wages it'll always be more difficult.

What has Sadler not delivered on?

Ups and downs, good and poor windows happen even with the best intentions at times.

The only unexpected thing was Covid, probably cost about 7m maybe... bit he didn't have to fund us as he did through it to gain the advantage, but he chose to.

We got promoted ahead of time really as a club, all the rest was completely predicable.

He's a man knows for doing in depth research in the industry hes in so I cant believe the football world came as a shock to him. He'll have surely known how much things cost and how difficult it can be as smaller club. Hence us sticking to a relatively small budget and having a model of selling and reinvesting to get players we couldn't afford before, we're at the start of that model. Also the TG and getting better youngsters, with the dev squad, again in its infancy.

He might sell up and leave, whoknows. Circumstances change. If he does sell, being a fan, I'm sure he wouldn't just offload to any random individual, he'd want the clubs future secured.

However he said only months ago and reiterated his unwavering commitment.

Until something isn't delivered I see no reason to distrust him.

I don’t distrust him JJ, I don’t know what he thinks. I have heard he wants to sell and that is still something on the table. I was very aware of his initial comments about being crazy, knowing nothing about running a football club and I don’t think he realised just how much work goes into it. His main business is hedge fund and it is only right and proper that is his priority.

I think his intentions have been and are to do the very best or the club and he has steadied everything since he took over. The one area he will be the most out of his comfort zone is the actual football side and that should be where the real pleasure is in it for him but also the most frustration. If you’re a supporter like he is, then it has to be enjoyable, he goes through the same emotions as us but he owns the club and makes the decisions. If any of us took his place you would have so many variations it would be funny to see.

I think it has been much harder for him than anticipated and he has to surround himself with the right people. Is Mansford the right person? I don’t think so, but he seems to rate him. If I were him, I would take whatever comes at the end of the season and be preparing now for life in one of 2 leagues. I would also ask am I getting what I need from this or is it to the detriment of my work, my family, my mental health, then if the answer is yes then you have to look after yourself so selling the club or taking on an investor might work. If he is still enjoying it and his life is good then he needs to address the problems we have and get things steady again, because at the moment we’re a bit of a car crash. It’s things like taking on MA when every other fucker knew it was doomed from the start and then not support him, until this January when he gets in the players to play his formation but then sacks the manager and employs one who is telling our star players they are going to have to adapt or be dropped. There seems to be no sense in it to me and it’s these things that need to stop or we will be in trouble.
