Comeback Holloway all is forgiven

Huddersfield has to be Apples last game if we don’t win. Lose that game we will need plenty of wins to stay up, we will need someone who can hit the ground running and knows the club, we will need somebody who can motivate a team to have a right go at the opposition. Step forward Ian Holloway

I'd have Ollie back all day long...Can't be any worse than what we're currently watching.

Grayson twice and failed
Appleton twice and failed
Holloway twice will he fail?

Whats the fascination keep going for old boys? 🤷‍♂️
Not fascination, more desperation.
Mainly because, with hindsight, we've left it too long.

But as much as I'm grateful for what he did for the club (his Quest love in with KO aside) I think his success was a one off thing (didn't do too well at Grimsby, which I think was his last management job?).

I'd go for a short term contract with someone experienced in keeping struggling clubs up. Sadly I can only think of Allardyce or Pulis. Jeez that's depressing.

I’m thinking anyone coming in now needs to know the club, I’m thinking only till end of the season then see where he has taken us. Grayson was average first time round and crap the second. Apples crap 1st and 2nd time round. Holloway was The Messiah first time round.

Yep let's get another ex-manager back that no one can agree on that has proven himself to be a busted flush.

How about Grayson? Surely he'll be better third time round!

I'd go for Fat Stinking Sam on a 25 year contract.

Just as we went back twice & failed, doesn't mean Ollie would fail does it???
Ollie & Thommo for me all day long.
MOTIVATION!
However big tactition Sam to end of season, possibly.

No, I think Holloway completely lost the plot at some stage. I think he is undiagnosed or undisclosed bipolar and struggles with it.

Holloway was in a moment. We were in a moment. The stars aligned. Those stars have moved way out of alignment in the 15 years that have passed.

John Herdman tho...

The club has literally no one in place from that first time round apart from maybe a few stewards and the ticket office. I'm not sure what advantage knowing those people would be...

Trouble is, if Warnock goes back to Cardiff, which is a strong rumour, then he’ll probably get them out of trouble.
we will then need 3 clubs to be worse than us and it’s getting more difficult to identify those 3 clubs.

I doubt guys like Big Sam or Dyche would lose face by taking our job.
Sad to say that they'd want a bigger club with more potential.
I'd say Wilder's a poss - or more likely a young manager with something to prove on the way up.
With maybe a new CB, our players are what they are - we need a coach to get the best out of them, not a mostly office based manager. IYKWIM.

Without sounding like John McEnroe

You cannot be serious??

A manager second time round is very rarely the same.
Never go back.
Eddie Howe
Neil Warnock
No doubt others
I sometimes feel that certain managers have a rare affiliation with certain clubs and always bring out the best (in players and supporters alike)
I would welcome Ollie back with open arms and if it came down to a vote the majority of fans would also go for him.
It’s very strange really when we have had players associated with our arch enemy who come back and people talk bollox about not coming back while they are there.
Brett was a prime example and yet people adored him when he came back
No reason Ollie couldn’t get the same treatment
Thing is he is probably finished with management now.

Only 2 years older than Neil Warnock.
Now I am in my seventies 😁and people at that age should be retired ( which I am very happy to be🥳) and certainly not managing a football club, least of all ours.….and who In their right mind wants the hassle at that age😉😉😉of taking on a relegation battle other than maybe another pay cheque.
As for Holloway….yes he was great for us and a breath of fresh air but he has done bugger all since and shipped out at the first opportunity so no thanks.….and much as I despise Bolton Wankerers there is no way Evo is going to leave there at this point in time.
Some of the so called established names put forward on here are likely to be no better than the current incumbent.I’d rather if we are going to replace Appleton we appoint someone who if we do go down is the right person to give us the best chance of returning asap.

Cannot understand the negativity for Ollie.
Yes he did himself no favours on leaving.
However he got a bang average championship team into the Prem, motivated all our players, most improving enormously.
Almost kept us in the prem despite the odds.
Very nearly got us back to the prem.
All DESPITE the Oystons.
Tell me anyone who did anywhere near as much as Ollie & Thommo?
I still believe Thommo was a massage influence.
Love 2c both back till end of season, I'm sure they would transform us & keep us up with entertaining football.

Flopped on his arse the last few jobs.

The game and we have changed.

Holloway is not a bad shout, at least until the end of the season. Especially if he had an tactically astute coach alongside him. Some managers are an ideal fit for certain clubs and Holloway and Blackpool were made for each other. Both are a little bit crazy, resilient and exude positively and having a good time. He is a great motivator and would give the place a lift. And that is absolutely what we need, someone to install the belief into the players. If push comes to shove and SS calls time on Appleton then I for one would not be against the move....

imagine a scenario, Holloway meets Koko and says I need a striker and we will win the league. Koko says sign this NDA & I’ll be straight with you, you are not going to get a striker and we are going to sell off your team on our way to league 2 we go. If you like I will put you on gardening leave to find a new club as long as they pay us 400k compo.
