Companies in Blackpool that are no more

Absolutely, and was his sister called Freda?

Used to go religiously on a Saturday morning to get the latest Northern Soul record or a latest release which he had just ordered.

Magical days
He had an encyclopaedic knowledge of music, to my 15 year old brain. And a backroom collection to match.
I once went in, after watching ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’.
The end credits rolled to a band called ‘Lick the Tins’. I went in and asked if he’d heard of them, he said give me a minute, disappeared back room (in the days when he knew no one would rob him blind), came back 10 minutes later, literally blowing dust off a 12” single muttering “I thought I had something “ !

Apollo *something*, where Sainsbury’s garage is now. By the Mecca bingo. Random location that didn’t last long.

Fine fare? Now gonna be a hotel/tram depot. Exactly the combo I look for when booking a holiday hotel.

Don’t remember that one LaLa, help me out.

My mum used to do a couple of evening shifts there in the early 70’s. I remember going with my dad to drop her off when I was a toddler. They made kitchenwear, a lot of it is now vintage stuff and collectable. She got a lovely egg slicer as a bonus one year. I got a better tune out of that than TC ever could !

That pizza place across from the Waterloo pub. The Italian geezer with a stone oven did the best pizza I’ve ever tasted.

Ismail cafe just up from Rawcliffe’s, cheese on toast to die for.

I like food.
