As a Stockport resident since 1977….WTF is your point……this is a town that thoroughly deserves a Football League Club, and one which had one for a very long time.If the owner,a Stockfordian by the way, like Simon is a Seasider, has put money into the club then is that a problem as it seems like you think so.The Man City of the National League.
Congratulations, but it certainly cost them.
CALM DOWN BLEACH (its a message board)by the way i enjoyed it )well done stockport. As a Stockport resident since 1977….WTF is your point……this is a town that thoroughly deserves a Football League Club, and one which had one for a very long time.If the owner,a Stockfordian by the way, like Simon is a Seasider, has put money into the club then is that a problem as it seems like you think so.
BFC is and has always been my team but I very happy for the town and it’s supporters as it is a great boost for the place.
Pretty obvious if you read it.WTF is your point
Because “Bend its” comment re City was not called for and he should know it.CALM DOWN BLEACH (its a message board)by the way i enjoyed it )well done stockport.
Wrexham spent moreThe Man City of the National League.
Congratulations, but it certainly cost them.
Allez….that is a ridiculous comment…their rivals are far more traditional and I doubt AFC would even come close to be in any hate list.Yes well done. And they hate KFC FYLDE too
Correct, but Stockport was the team that has just got promotion, and I was commenting on that point with a factual observation.Wrexham spent more
BLEACH ,chill and enjoy have a beer,(everyone is entitled to an opinion)as i said well done,i remember some great games with county a proper league football club,we just need bury back now,my favourite moment was when andy preece scored against them at bloomfield road ,some fat bird in front of me in the old south stand ,shouted out come on county when they scored late on ,and i enjoyed telling her its never over untill the fat lady sings ,then no sooner i said it preecy scored the winner, and i said but its all over now ,dont think she was very happy, great times dispite the scum ownership hello from sunny Spain.Because “Bend its” comment re City was not called for and he should know it.
This town football wise lives next door to two of the biggest football clubs not just in the country but these days even the world. The fact many locals have kept faith with the club and they have believe me it is a great day for them after what the club has been through.
Of course should we meet them in a competitive fixture then obviously I would want us to beat them
When they were both in the National League Stockport hated them. FactAllez….that is a ridiculous comment…their rivals are far more traditional and I doubt AFC would even come close to be in any hate list.
For the record, rather like our historical enemy Horwich, Burnley would top the list for the older generation Stockfordians.
When they were in the National League together and KFC had more money they hated em. Fact.Allez….that is a ridiculous comment…their rivals are far more traditional and I doubt AFC would even come close to be in any hate list.

Fact….only in your simple mind……by the way do you live in Stockport so have first hand evidence or did you read this from one of your library books..fiction section. When they were in the National League together and KFC had more money they hated em. Fact.
Nor factually correct for that matter…to even compare City with Stockport in terms of ownership, spending or whatever else is just ridiculous…anyway whilst I am delighted for what is now very much my home town and even the original home town of both my parents, my birth and the town( ok we moved to St.Annes when I was 12)I grew up in still takes precedence over it and anywhere else for that matter when it comes to football.C
Correct, but Stockport was the team that has just got promotion, and I was commenting on that point with a factual observation.
I noticed you 'liked' bleach's retort.
Why my comment was 'not called for' is beyond me on a discussion board.
I was neither abusive nor factually incorrect.
Glad you got to follow up the link.expected a bit more from Halifax but Stockport we’re just to good for them.CALM DOWN BLEACH (its a message board)by the way i enjoyed it )well done stockport.
In terms of the National League, it’s a pretty good analogy regarding spending which was my original point you will find. However I am genuinely happy for you, and I can appreciate how Stockport residents applauded Chesterfield fans coming home from the 3-3 draw in the FA Cup semi in the 90’s….so well done. I’m hoping my home town now gets through the PO’s, but I don’t think it will happen.Nor factually correct for that matter…to even compare City with Stockport in terms of ownership, spending or whatever else is just ridiculous…anyway whilst I am delighted for what is now very much my home town and even the original home town of both my parents, my birth and the town( ok we moved to St.Annes when I was 12)I grew up in still takes precedence over it and anywhere else for that matter when it comes to football.
Now you getting to the reason Bend it is so bitter!Glad you got to follow up the link.expected a bit more from Halifax but Stockport we’re just to good for them.
Now it’s up to Wrexham to follow suit but as we all know nothing is for certain….who knows it could end up being the team who have been on what you could only describe as relegation form…The Spirerites.
Not been the same since the manager moved on ib some controversyGlad you got to follow up the link.expected a bit more from Halifax but Stockport we’re just to good for them.

Deary, dear me Stanah. My hometown club is Blackpool, Im a sandgrownun. I happen to live in Chesterfield, and although I follow their progress, I DONT support them. Now you getting to the reason Bend it is so bitter!
His hometown club Cheater field have lost out to Stockport so he needs to belittle their achievements!
Deary, dear me Stanah. My hometown club is Blackpool, Im a sandgrownun. I happen to live in Chesterfield, and although I follow their progress, I DONT support them.
So your observation is total ********
As for belittling their achievement...mmmm......where did I say that. I have said congratulations and well done, not really belittling them is it? I insinuated that they have spent a considerable amount of money in relation to the league they play in.
Anybody who tries to twist that fact is plain stupid, because it happened. Im not saying its right or wrong, just that it happened. its irrefutable and doesn't distract from the fact that Stockport have been promoted.
What's the problem folks?
I despair.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt you're not stupid, but laughing emojis with no constructive comment in reply to a reasoned reply smacks of immaturity to me.
It's not having money, it's what you do with it. See KFC Fylde as an object lesson.Pretty obvious if you read it.
Well deserved, but they spent their way to success.Glad to see them back, is there anywhere that I disagreed with that point?
Unwarranted reaction, pathetic
Agreed Wizz, totally agree, but that wasn't my initial comment and it didn't deserve the reaction it got. It's not having money, it's what you do with it. See KFC Fylde as an object lesson.
ok, you got me, i will engage with you, even though I really shouldn't.I will give you the benefit of the doubt you're not stupid, but laughing emojis with no constructive comment in reply to a reasoned reply smacks of immaturity to me.
I don't mind you not agreeing with me, that's what a discussion board is for, but 'rolling on the floor laughing' emojis in response doesn't impress.
….and the Mersey itself only starts about a mile from the ground…ok maybe a mile and a halfwhere the Rivers Goyt and Tame meet .The team that plays the closest to the Mersey pub quiz fans.
& Ryan Reynolds is well fitHope Wrexham follow them back too. Two well supported teams.
Gary Megson finally vindicated...
Bleach. Care to respondwell done to Stockport. Always pleased when a former league team and a ground I've been to returns. Allez is rightt though. There was a lot of animosity between the fans of both teams when they were playing each other a while back.
You clearly haven’t been in some parts of Stockport then…mind you it does have some lovely leafy suburbs…by the way I could say the same about Celtic…well at least the first sentenceWho actually gives a monkeys about Stockport? Seriously?
They had crap support when they were relatively good.
A crap team in a privelaged area.
Bleach. Care to respond
I know that there had been trouble involving some so called Stockport fans with AFC when they have played each other and that is probably a dozen times at most and mostly in the National League North.Bleach. Care to respond
Our Seasider daughter lives in Reddish and we all keep one eye on the Stocky results. A big well done to them and we hope they work their way up to play against us or maybe we can play them in a pre-season friendly this year?As someone who was born, and now works, in Stockport, I've always kept an eye out on County's results. Great to see them promoted and back in the league today.
Warington Town is 50 meters from the Manchester ship canal; I've played there, and if the ball is lumped into the canal by a big centre half, a new ball is needed & you'll never see the old one again!….and the Mersey itself only starts about a mile from the ground…ok maybe a mile and a halfwhere the Rivers Goyt and Tame meet .
….and despite the fact I have lived in Stockport since 1977 I didn’t know that until a couple of weeks ago.
The River actually runs under the Merseyway Shopping Centre and there plans to open up the area so that it isn’t covered any more which I am all for.Sadly the centre of Stockport around Merseyway is in need of severe redevelopment.
This is where the River disappears under the shopping centrewell from a different angle
oh and apparently Warrington Towns ground is 50 metres nearer…850 as compared to 900…but then Warrington isn’t in the Foorball LeagueEFL that is.

I see what you mean…..maybe they should ask the guy from Shrewsbury Town if he’d like a new job with his little boat….after all he‘s redundant now….Warington Town is 50 meters from the Manchester ship canal; I've played there, and if the ball is lumped into the canal by a big centre half, a new ball is needed & you'll never see the old one again!
On a discussion board, makes sense.ok, you got me, i will engage with you, even though I really shouldn't.
Quite simply because like Wrexham, Stockport have had substantial cash injection for the league they are in (as did City). I haven't said its wrong, just it happened. Problem? Why make the Man City comparison if you are not trying to belittle Stockport's achievement?
Why not?, as ive stated before its a discussion board. You don't like my point..respond, but emojis, come on.Do we need to compare and contrast the ownership of City with Stockport's?
Intriguing. I take the 'immaturity' comment back, as you are obviously a person of slightly middle aged years, as I left that particular house nearly 50 years ago. I wasn't aware Id insulted you as per se, just commenting on the response which most people would have been disappointed with.I have chatted with you face to face, even visited your house, in person you seem an amenable guy but on this board, I'm afraid you (like many others) take on a caricature and insult people in a way you would never to their face ( I'm far from immature) and hence why I feel your response to my comment was only worthy of laughing off!
As members of the Tangerine Army, I'm glad you've made up ... life's too short etc.On a discussion board, makes sense.

Having conversations with people face to face has certainly never been one of my failings, but have to resort to such as its a Football Forum not a Zoom meeting.
Feel free to PM me as Im genuinely interested in your identity, always nice to engage with a blast from the past.
If not, have a good week.
