yep, I do. He's the best no 9 and only target man we have at the moment. And Yates plays better with him in the team. He's doing ok but come next season certainly we need to look for some-else as he's not gonna get any better. Of course, Beesley if he ever gets fit may well get a chance before then.No need, I'll just assume you disagree with my posts on this thread
Good first half, poor second halfCorbeanau clearly has some ability but he has the footballing IQ of a watermelon.
Needs to start learning what to do when he gets in promising positions sharpish.
I've read this target man thing. I think there was one goal vs Bristol City where he held it up well and laid it off a half yard for Bowler to score. I'm not sure I can think of many other examples of him doing the same or similar but happy to be put right if there are others?yep, I do. He's the best no 9 and only target man we have at the moment. When you don't rate a player, you are naturally harsh on him and point out all the flaws and weaknesses. When you rate a player you make allowances for those flaws. It's pretty natural to do that. The season started in July, we're now deep into October.
I probably am being harsh - getting humped last night doesn't help - he is doing ok but don't like it when the young lads are put under the microscope and the goal machine seems to get a free pass time and again. Last night was the perfect example of needing a senior player to pipe up and put a rocket up everyone's arse AND lead by example.
Other teams play without a target man, it's not set in stone as a tactic each team has to play. I just don't think we're getting much from it overall and that is borne out by our league position.
Apter. Thompson, or Garbutt as RB?Apter isn't ready for BFC and Corbeanu and Poveda aren't ready for Wolves or Leeds So they drop to a level where their manager thinks they are ready for. I struggle with this criticism of Corbeanu. He's a young winger honing his skills. He's no divine right to beat Championship full backs and last night offensive wise in that first half he was the only one who looked capable of actually creating something. His defensive frailties leave a lot to be desired though.
Corbeanu or Apter? I'm happy with the managers choice of Corbeanu.
think they're both left backs so neither at RB. I'll go for Thompson at left back long as he keeps focused and his aggression in check.Apter. Thompson, or Garbutt as RB?
