Could Ross Barkley fill the void for a ball playing/attacking midfielder

Could he? Yes. Would he? Probably not. His head seems to have gone a while ago. Attitude and fitness would have massive question marks despite him undoubtedly having the ability. Why would he move to League 1? He’s got all the money he likely needs. Chances are a big Championship club- who can afford it- will offer him £40k per week on a 1 year deal still and he’ll go there and do nothing before finally dropping down to League 1 to do the same only for less.
 
If you were a championship club would you sign him? I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole. If myriad others have failed to reignite his talent what makes you think you are so special to effect meaningful play from him. One step above dele Allie.

England player a year ago.

He should head to Saudi with the rest of them. Grab a two year contract and then head to the US for a final trough feed
 
Based on the 15 mins coming on as sub for Sydney FC back in March when I was watching the game against Wellington - a resounding no! A local supporter described the A league as League 1 standard and he can't even get in the team 🤣

Can’t write him off .
He won’t be going to league 1
Delle Ali might surprise a few this season .

Because Gibson has a massive blind slot on wages and really wonder whether Carrick would be happy as its reverting to the old Boro approach of ageing marquee signings, of which there is a long term problem. A few years ago they were desperate to get rid of any player on over £30k a year - of which there were 4

I hope da does but he’s been a waste of a shirt for the poor clubs paying his wages for the past few seasons.
 
Ross Barkley? I think you may be being a touch hopeful there mate, he was playing for Chelsea and England not too long ago.

Could Angel Di Maria do a job? Batistuta? Or sod it, Sadio Mane if he fancies 5k a week?

Not really. What happened to him is terrible and many times it’s the scars you don’t see that are the worst. He’s been lucky to have a family that loves him and he reached the top and then went off the boil big time. I think there is more to his story but he has way better choices than the kids I deal with on a daily basis.
