Maxwell - 7.5 Had a good game again.
Connolly - 6 Not his fault hes out of position.
Keogh - 6.5 Good in the air, reading the game and brave but very slow and dribbles out/closes down too far forward, not helped by lack of bite in midfield.
Husband - 6.5 Was ok, still not sure of him at CH.
Garbutt - 5.5 Poor game but delivery was better.
Ward - 7.5 Not his best position but playing well this season.
James (Off 73’) - 5.5 Played ok but wasn't in the game hardly.
Bowler - 8.5 Best player by a mile last night, had their left back on strings.
Anderson (Off 80’)- 7 Don't mid Anderson but think we could sign better.
Lavery - 6 Got into good positions but fluffed his chances.
Yates (Off 73’) - 5.5 Worryingly not found his feet but hopefully will come good. Missed a glaring chance.

Dougall (On 73’) - 5.5 Really off the pace.
John-Jules (On 73’) - 5.5 Didn't have chance to do much.
Hamilton (On 80’) - 7.5 Played really well when he came on and was direct but fluffed his big chance.

A far better assessment than those that were marking people with 4s and 5s . We played well in the second half but didnt take our chances. Their goal also should have been offside. I thought Lavery was better than 6 and our forward line gave them problems throughout the match.

CT, are you building a database or spreadsheet so you can calculate average scores for each payer as the season progresses?

Hey. Yeah I am. I’ll do a monthly roundup at the end of each month then a full season roundup at the end of the season. Can split it many different ways - Home/Away/League/Cup etc.

Also doing it for users too so each individual can see their scores across the season.

And compiling stats on goals, assists and minutes played.

Sounds dedicated. And that will appear on here?

Yep. I always do a summary (check the other threads for the other ones) once I’ve got the results in.

Just sorting out the data for this match now and will be posting a summary shortly.

If I get chance and can develop something nice I’ll put it into Qlik Sense and create some visualisations but I’ll need to develop something first.

Oi! Don't get all techy on me pal! 😉

Thank you once again for your ratings. 29 of you kindly supplied them, 7 more than any other match so far this season.

On average across all players who played some part we scored a rating of 5.3 out of 10. If we take out the players who played less than 60 minutes (Hamilton, Dougall & John-Jules) this actually rises slightly to 5.42 out of 10 which shows that our subs didn't make the impact we needed.

The weakest link was defender Richard Keogh with a rating of 4.02. This could probably be seen as a surprise as he was actually the highest rated defender (6.61 on average) over the two previous Championship matches against Bristol & Cardiff City.

The highest rated individual was midfielder Josh Bowler with a rating of 7.26. We'd been calling for him to start over CJ Hamilton and he didn't disappoint with his mazy runs down the right wing. I think his close control makes him a handful for defenders and they're scared to stick a foot in at the risk of fouling him in and around the penalty box. Of those players to have played some part in all 4 of our matches so far this season, Bowler has averaged 7.66 (second to only Shayne Lavery).

Elsewhere Calum Connolly came out the best of a bad bunch in defence with a rating of 5.48. Whilst Lavery, despite receiving his lowest mark of the season (6.29), was still the highest rated attacker. Bad news for Jerry Yates who's yet to score above 6.18.

The harshest critic was @Northstandsinger with a rating of 3.36 whereas @Hazi scored highest with 6.5.

Full Ratings:

Maxwell - 7.02 - Averaging 7.17 in Championship football, playing all available minutes so far.

Connolly - 5.48 - Played in all 4 games however has only scored above 6 once, 7.83 against Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup First Round.

Keogh - 4.02 - Weakest game by far having previously been our best rated defender with a 6.61 average in Championship matches.

Husband - 5.21 - Similar to Connolly, played a part in all 4 games but only scored above 6 once, against Middlesbrough.

Garbutt - 4.31 - Progressively seeing worse ratings each week, dropping from 6.55 in the opening day season draw with Bristol City.

Ward - 5.34 - Same as Connolly/Husband, strongest showing was against Middlesbrough and struggling to impress in the league.

James (Off 73’) - 4.59 - In the two Championship games he has featured in, he's scored below 5.

Bowler - 7.26 - Consistently impressive and an average rating of 7.66 shows this.

Anderson (Off 80’) - 4.95 - Two poor games on the bounce after impressing against Bristol City & Middlesbrough.

Lavery - 6.29 - Missed some big chances and the lower rating reflects that. Highest average rating so far (players to play in all games).

Yates (Off 73’) - 5.10 - Yet to get going. Highest score so far 6.18. Needs a goal.

Dougall (On 73’) - 4.89 - Lack of pre-season is showing with some low ratings for our King Kenny.

John-Jules (On 73’) - 4.70 - Hasn't hit the ground running like Bowler/Lavery. More to come.

Hamilton (On 80’) - 5.00 - Average rating of 4.68 in Championship games so far.

Good work CT. Posters will come on and say it's because of this or that. Don't take it personally, you're just putting up the stats. Well done.
