Covid passports

So no under 18's allowed then ridiculous.

The vaccine works or it doesn't the rest is utter nonsense.
Thinking about that earlier. I've no major issue if it allows us back sooner, but you're right, it's not clear on the u18's other than presumably they can be tested.

Many U18s are getting regularly tested. What’s the problem if it’s only a short term measure. Or are there more sinister reasons. Better get Chissy asking questions

Will the crowds be limited? Getting 9000 into Bloomfield Road when you just have to show a ticket takes too long, how long will it take with this pointless passport as well!

No they ain't it's the flow test which isn't accurate you want to put a stick up a five years old nose just to watch a game of football and have to pay for the privilege it ain't happening.

Part of the trials will be at football. No passport, no admittance. Vaccination, a recent test, or proof of antibodies to get a passport.

Bring it on.
And a beer (or two) on the way to the ground were you’ll need it as well. 👍

Interesting. Wouldn’t fancy that for a kid. But should the majority of fans be stopped from attending because some kids understandably wouldn’t go through that? And I thought the question of cost was still an ‘open’ one. Not had chance to catch today’s news properly so a bit behind on this. Isn’t any sort of trial a step in the right direction to opening everything up?

It stops infected people going in an arena.
But you can be vaccinated and still catch and spread the virus. So in theory an unvaccinated, healthy person could go into an arena and catch it from someone who has been jabbed. I suppose this could happen to the staff working there that are under 50 and not vaccinated.

Yup. Too many variables to consider and then we'll hit winter as the season gets started. Covid has some way to go yet imo

The tests are a lottery at best. If I'm vaccinated that should protect me, if it doesn't whats the point? If people choose not to get vaccinated that's up to them, they'll get ill as do children who don't get the MMR jab.

Ah, but as we know that jab causes autism...

I can see all sides of this, its a tough one.

Not sure how it'll be resolved.

No one wants to go back to what we have just had or be put at unnecessaryrisk, but equally the vaccine passports throw up all sorts of issues and discrimination.

Some places haven't mentioned tests, only vaccinated people.

We have pregnant women who can't have the vaccine, kids, probably medical conditions etc.

If its vaccinated people or a negative test result it throws up many issues. How long before must the test be and how do you prove that? How will this be policed? Lots more issues.

It may not be ideal but surely it`s progress,a lot better than no-one attending, with a route to all returning when that`s regarded as safe. Some people complain whatever`s done. You just can`t win with them.
The people who complain whatever is done are not worth considering because they are habitual moaners, the sort of people that whinge about the weather all winter and then complain in summer that it's too hot, forget them.
Some people like myself have been to work all the way through this with no vaccine, been to the supermarket a couple of times a week with no vaccine, why is a vaccine passport going to make me any safer?
The government say the jab protects you, give people the jab then let us go back to being independent free thinking adults again who assess our own risks. That is a quicker way back to being normal which is what most of us want.
To insist on a passport will be a beauracratic nightmare that will do nothing to make us safer but maybe the contract has already been promised to a friend of the party!

Everyone to be offered two lateral flow tests a week now.

Cue moaners saying they don't work...

Me too. All over the country, meeting the public and using every form of public transport in just about every city. I can’t think of many more day to day activities in non-frontline work with such a risk profile yet there’s no suggestion of having to have a passport in order to go about working. I’d be much less concerned about attending a packed football stand with about a 1 in 3000 chance of being next to the covid case who’ll be in there. And as I’ve been vaccinated it’s about a fifth of the chance that itd be transmitted to me. All good odds I reckon. I’m more likely to fall under a bus when pissed. Which means I’ll take my chance and yes let’s get back to normal thinking as we go about our lives. And if I get it then the chances of severe illness have been pretty much eliminated.
The problem lies for those who haven’t yet been jabbed. Isn’t this just a clumsy short term trial to drive up vaccination rates?

Looks like it, carrot and the stick.
The chances of you falling under a bus when pissed are unfortunately quite high so you would probably be better served to try and avoid that situation!

Tell that to the professor that has just said they aren't very accurate on the news. He said if you test negative you should still act as though you may have Covid! Crikey.......

Health Minister says less than one in a thousand gives a false positive. Who's right?

If this professor knows what he is talking about, you would like to think that he does, then if the tests aren't accurate it looks like mega bucks contracts for the boys again!

Vaccine passport for me or proof of a test in the last week (or whatever time period is decided).

Don’t know why it’s a big deal to organise.

On the track and trace app here there is already a status for your vaccination status.

When I registered for my jab last week I did it with my singpass (gov digital id) so when I have had my jab my app will automatically update to show I am done.

There is also a section for test status which currently says ‘coming soon’

Surely the NHS app can do the same??

Not sure how it works in the UK but we just scan our smartphones to enter and exit anywhere - surely the above can be linked?
