Critch on shortlist

No regarding Critchley, not another who would cause division.
If not Dobbie then someone new & hungry. I would like Dobbie for the continuity, so let’s see what happens in the last 4 games. Should we survive definitely appoint him & if we go down but show some signs of improvement again he should be in the mix.

I think he went to QPR with Critchley, i dont really know anything about him, what he does or how influential he is
Garrity went to Lincoln and didn't last long there. A lot depends on how the next few games go. As looks likely and we are relegated then that will dictate who will be prepared to come and who won't. If we go down, we're going to need someone who can build a team, develop young players and play attractive attacking football. Daryl Clarke and Pete Wild tick a lot of those boxes as does Wellens although he has patchy record.

If by some miracle we stay up then it would be impossible not to give it to Dobbie which could be a big mistake. As we know the Championship is very unforgiving and we would need a much higher level of investment in both a Head Coach and players to be competitive. Critchley would be a candidate in that situation with Dobbie as his assistant to learn the ropes and it would also provide a succession plan.

And who would Critchley learn the ropes from? 😂

Whether it be Dobbie or some-one just as inexperienced as him or some-one else with some managerial experience, the fact remains the same. They will have a massive job on in the summer getting the right players in to let us start progressing as a team. And this summer, they will need the full backing of the board. What happened last summer can't be allowed to happen this.

Critchley wins five on the trot in League 1 and he is suddenly Alexander the Great, Joan of Arc and Mother Theresa rolled into one. Football supporters are driven by results. If he is the best on offer why cut our nose off to appease one section of the supporters?
Because they want the board to act to every fans wish. They want who they want and when they dont work out they want them sacked when they want.
If the club dont tow the line the toys come out the pram about how the club doesnt care about the fans.

I think for me my preference wouldn't be Quitch but I'd take him if he was the best option.
I can remember being critical of him towards the end of last season (negative thoughts about negative systems) but then I remember lots of positive thoughts about his hard work and thoroughness in analysis of the opposition and team preparation.
I think he'd need to agree not to be paid for 12 months as a punishment.

It wouldn't surprise me if he did come back, but it surely would need to be under our terms ie a perm No 2 is appointed (not a mate who needs work for a few weeks until something better comes along) and the contract is loaded in the Clubs favour.

Another reason why it's possible is so the Club can stick 2 fingers up to the fans and say 'we'll appoint who we want, not who you don't want' and hope the appointment vindicates them. I'm sure stranger reasons have happened.
I thought that was what they have already done?

The football was pretty boring under Critch. And Mansford will have to swallow his pride. Didn't he say no way he'd be back under his watch?
