Once again disappointed to say the least first half they out passed us 40 mins before a shot on goal it was woeful to watch , kicking towards the Pool fans you felt completely detached from the game as it was spent in our half most of the time and nothing to get our crowd going ,boo off at HT ( which I don’t like ). I don’t know what Critchley was watching as the second half build up play from the back was so painfully slow it played straight into there hands as they sat back and waited for us to pass the ball to them , it felt like we time wasted for them , very little goal threat from us but Critchley thinks we did well ! , he needs to ask the 3000 pool fans if it was worth going to watch as they weren’t happy , with the lack of drive forward . Norburn was useless not a creative pass in him , but as I keep saying Critchley hasn’t a plan B when we go one behind , it was awful to watch I felt sorry for the 10 year old grandson who was really looking forward to a performance sadly it was nowhere near a performance. Yet another chance to catch up thrown away ! but Critchley thinks we did well , in his own little world get shut of him now ! 👎

We bought Season Tickers because we are Blackpool Supporters fella.

I realise it’s 2024, but surely that still counts for something ?
I agree with you. You buy a season ticket to support the club , not the owners , not the manager. We are all disappointed. to say the least, with Neil Critchley's evaluation of the situation but we still support the team.

I agree with him. We had a lot more chances than they did but didn't take any.

Ah yes I see your angry, and to be honest I would be too If I had bought a season ticket. But I didn't because I knew what we would be getting. But never mind you can waste your money next year too as Critchley will still be delivering his lacklustre football....Best of luck.

I’m not angry 👍

Every club has plastics and we’re no different.

We are playing academy football in League 1 with an academy mentality. By which I mean the result is less important than practising the plan. At times it really is excruciating to watch but Critch is pleased because he's looking at it from a different perspective. Soul destroying for us watching.

Oh and fuck the fuckery fuckity off.

come on Wiz, we were awful and they were comfortable, we may have had 2 or 3 chances but his post mortem of the match was deluded. That wasn't a performance of a team with 3000 supporters behind them desperate for a performance to try and get to 6th place where we could then defend that position for the last few games. It was a poor performance again, away from home. fortunately we have 7 games lef, 4 at home, so we are not out of it by any means even if we get nothing at Derby, but they are going to have to be a lot braver and play a lot better than they did on Saturday.

Let’s not get carried away… There were almost 3,000 fans there, but I’m not sure they were necessarily ‘behind them’. Perhaps in the literal sense (in terms of where they were stood), but barring an early smattering of vocal support, the crowd was nervy and quiet.

It’s certainly a very long way from the supportive crowds that backed Ian Holloway to the Play Offs, Win, Lose or Draw.

There’s the age old chicken and egg argument about ‘giving the crowd something to sing about’, but ultimately we’ve not been living up to our own billing for some time in the supporting stakes and so some of our edge has gone.

As for the performance… (and I’ve not seen it on TV, so I’m talking purely from a spectator’s perspective).

I thought they were an OK side and pretty well organised. I don’t think they particularly deserved to be 1-0 up at half time though. We weren’t as poor as some have suggested, but we certainly weren’t firing on all cylinders that’s for sure (Two sides that kind of cancelled each other out I’d have said)

The second half was better from our perspective… We created enough to get something out of the game.

I'll be there whatever next season, but ffs give me something to get behind and it ain't Marv to Grimmy, Grimmy to Pennington, Pennington to Marv, Marv to Casey, Casey to Marv and Marv back to Grimmy. Manchester City we are not, so why try and play like them ?
You forgot Marv hoofs it high upfield to one of their players….

It's the game plan and tactics that are so weak and annoying to the fans.
We dick about at the back, nobody shows or gives an option for a forward pass thru midfield (or the guy on the ball doesn't see it).
Grimmy becomes the only available safe option, and he hoofs it up the field for safety first. Happens all the time - as though it's actually a tactic.
So how come a supposed great coach can't work out a way for us to play and pass the ball forward whilst retaining possession?
Why are we always (always, always) left wanting in midfield?
At times on Saturday, we made Wigan look like Man City as they held it, ran with it, and passed it effectively.
Yes - often to no avail, but at least they tried to play decent football.
This is why so many fans are pissed off - even though we could still (possibly, just maybe) make the playoffs.

No one is saying it wasn't poor, but they literally had one shot on target and won.

He didn’t say anything wild in that interview.

Wasn’t it just we were poor first half then dominated in the second half and didn’t take our opportunities?

That’s what happened.

Please read my post fully before spouting your utter bollocks, many thanks.

I agree with Wiz. Goal aside, I can think of a first half header that must have took a coat of paint off the post and a right foot curler that fortunately went fairly straight second half.

No we weren't good, first half we were awful. But there really wasn't much between the teams, and it was a game of few chances.

So that's the disappointing thing, because it's happened probably 10 times this year now, that we've created so little in a game we're on a level footing in. Wigan were better than the likes of Burton and Port Vale, and probably even Stevenage but there wasn't anything to really scare. They moved through the spaces in midfield well, no17 particularly finding a gap between our three lines that meant he was always available - wish our midfield did that instead of just going laterally.

I was disappointed with the appointment of Appleton but I still bought a season ticket because I'll always be a Blackpool supporter not a manager supporter and I'll do the same whoever's in charge next season. The only time I didn't buy one was for the boycott seasons and that was for a justifiable cause.
