There is a naff Premier League Cult Heroes article on the BBC website with some even naffer, uninspired choices.

But, one Geordie says his is Tony Green 'the best signing we ever made'

As the song sang on the Leazes used to go:

"We got MacDonald from Luton
and Hibbitt from Leeds
Tudor from Sheffield
and Smith Aberdeen

But the best inside forward that I've ever seen
Well we got him from Blackpool, he's called Tony Green

For any Toon fans of the 1970's it was always Tony Green

yeah read that article and yep, so many players I'd never really heard of. As you say, naff article.

It was out of the blue, saw it on a headline for the green outside the newsagents, can’t remember whereabouts in the week though! I shed a tear was absolutely gutted. Was to pay an Oyston tax bill ? If my failing memory serves me right.
