Dan Grimshaw

Of the keepers I remember Burridge and Woods and although only here for 5 matches (part of the perfect 10) a young Joe Hart.

Its interesting how fans see players individual errors for goals when quite often there are a number of contributing errors. A poster last night was critical of Thompson for being the wrong side of Semenyo when in fact the issue was Marvin not being quite in line and played him onside. If Grimmy had managed to save the final shot it would have been a very good save, not one that you expect the keeper to make.

The 3rd goal Grimmy was more at fault for as he was not expecting shot - the late swerve on the ball did him but if he'd been more alert originally he would have been in a better position to cover the swerve and push the ball away better.

I think it has been said earlier in the thread but Banks in my view, and going back certainly John Burridge, George Wood and Tony Waiters (by reputation as I cannot remember him playing).
Way ahead of my time tbh, jumped in on the league one season where we went up to the championship for the first time.

Andy Morrell/Keigan Parker days.

One or two posters appear to get a buzz out of criticising our players.
Recently the unfair criticisms (IMO) have been aimed at Josh, Grimmy, Jordan Gabriel, Gaz & Marv (& probably others if I looked). These are Championship players, not PL internationals and they're not going to perform 10/10 every week.
Some newly signed players have drawn criticism, before they've even kicked a ball!
Agree. One of the worst is that Togo guy.

For me Grimshaw if he carries on, could be the best keeper I've seen at Blackpool. Over a short amount of games, hard to say IMO right now that he's better than Gilks or Steve Banks. Gilks was solid and reliable over a long time at a high level and Banks made saves the like of which I've rarely seen before or since. Grimmy seems to have the big saves in him and is good with his feet too, which wasn't Banksies strength. I just hope he carries on like he is because he's certainly a quality keeper.
